ROUND UP | EYE OF HORUS

✎ Thursday, 4 July 2013
Eye of Horus was a brand I was really unfamiliar with until I was recently given the opportunity to trial some of the line and I must say I've been pretty impressed with the quality of the products.

Eye Of Horus is actually a really interesting brand and until I received the media pack I was pretty oblivious. The products all control natural waxes and oils which means that these products are great for sensitive eyes. I don't have sensitive eyes so I can't really support the claim but I think that it's an important concept to note especially if you're having trouble with products irritating your eyes.
All products in the range are paraben free, not tested on animals and contain natural ingredients.
Goddess Eyeliner Pencils
These are waterproof and they are waterproof! I can wear these in my waterline with ease and have no problem what-so-ever with the liner disappearing or smudging out. These go on easily and are really easy to smudge out as well however you do have to be quick because once they're set they won't move.   I particularly love the Bronze shade and Charcoal for day time wear. On the site these all have different names but it's just for the different shades.

Luminous Isis +  Sheba Mystical Goddess Palettes

The Luminous Isis Shadow Palette (L) is a gorgeous trio that is perfect for creating a golden smokey eye. I find that with both these trios I don't need to use any other shadows in conjunction which I think is a huge plus for a trio! The Sheba Mystical Goddess Palette (R) is one I've been getting alot of use out of. I find all these shadows are be built up or sheered out super easily and although the shadows can look of a mess being baked shadows, they're all gorgeous swatched and on the eye. These shadows contain ingredients like sunflower oil and rosemary leaf which is really interesting! I've never tried shadows that contain more natural products.
The shadows can also be taken out really easily so you can mix and match the trios for travelling which is really handy. I don't think either of these trios are released yet because I can't see them on the website however there is another trio here which looks just as stunning :)

Goddess Mascara + Liquid Define Eyeliner

The Goddess Mascara is probably the stand out for me. I'm actually going to come right out and say it's easily on par with Benefit They're Real mascara which is my HG! I have found it super volumising, it doesn't clump which is my main issue and it doesn't smudge! I'm in love with this mascara and if there is one thing you do try from Eye Of Horus it's this!

I don't use liquid eyeliner very much so the Liquid Define eyeliner and me didn't get on too well. It's got a felt tip which isn't very flexible and is actually a little 'hard' when you first use it but after a few uses it did soften and get easier. It wasn't the easiest eyeliner to use because of the non-flexible tip for me but I found that when I gave it a good go it did produce an opaque very black line that didn't require a second 'coat'. A clever feature of this liner is that you can reverse the tip by taking some tweezers and pulling it out and swapping the ends! I was really impressed by that. I think if I had better skills with liquid eyeliner than I would've enjoyed this more.

 Overall
I'm super impressed by the brand as a whole and will be keeping an eye out for new things they come out with. I will without a doubt repurchase the Goddess Mascara I think it's the stand out product for me however all the products are really high quality and I think you are getting what you pay for with these products.

    1. Highly recommend it's similar but I find with this one it builds up better so you can just get a natural look or really build it up like I did in the picture :)

    1. As I said in the review I've never had any trouble with the mascara smudging. And the eyeliners smudge out easily at first but once they set they don't budge.

      Hope that helps :) x
