ROUND UP: RED EARTH COSMETICS

✎ Friday, 29 November 2013
26 Comments
Today I'm super excited to share with you a collection of Red Earth products that I've been playing around with for a couple of months now and been really enjoying them. The reason it's taken me sooo long to do this big feature is because I thought one of the base products broke me out but it turned out it was a silly eye cream that I reacted too so after trialling all these products for months I'm excited to share my thoughts!

 FACE

Illuminating Fluid & 02 Sundance Blush
Primer Perfection Hydrating Primer $22 here
Because I was sent this package back in winter this was a staple product during the cooler weather. I did think this broke me out at first but I know it isn't because I've been using it without any problems for two months now. It's a light gel consistency which smooths over the skin and the best part is it absorbs instantly. This can be used in conjunction with a moisturiser or on it's own and both ways works well. I think it's a get way to prep the skin and it's a good basic primer if you aren't looking for anything particular in a primer but still want to create a base before your make up. Red Earth to a few different versions of the primer and I've got my eye on the mattifying one for the summer.

Secret Potion Illuminating Skin Fluid in 01 Pearl $32 here
This is a product I did not expect to like at all because my skin can be on the oily side but I was really surprised. I think I associate illuminating with shine which is not the case at all. This is a real multi-purpose product which can be used to highlight the high points of your face, mixed with your foundation or used as a base. My favourite way to use it was mixed in with a foundation of higher coverage like Revlon Colorstay. The light reflecting properties in this just down plays the 'cakey' look that can happen with that foundation and adds a beautiful glow. I do make sure I powder to ensure my make up stays in place but I don't know why I was so scared! It's stunning. I also have used this on my collarbones and centre of my legs for a pretty sheen.

Colour Flash Velvet Radiance Blush in 02 Sun Dance $18 here
I have mentioned this before in a favourites post but I'm obsessed with the formula of these blushes! If you like a super pigmented blush than this isn't for you but personally I prefer blushes that aren't too over the top with pigmentation as they are easier to apply and blend (for me anyway). This is a light coral shade that can be applied ever so sheerly or built up for a real pop of colour on the cheeks. If applied too much at once it can be a nuisance to blend but generally that only happens when you're watching youtube, drinking tea, eating breakfast and trying to do your make up all at once.

EYES

1st visible swatch dark brown of Luna Eclipse. Next two are Meteor Shower then the following two are Blue Tide. Shades are swatched opposite to how they appear in the pans just to keep you on your toes ;)
Colour Rush Mineral Baked Eyeshadows Luna EclipseMeteor Shower, Blue Tide,  $16 each
I was probably most excited for Luna Eclipse being the matte offering of the bunch however I was let down by the pigmentation and quality of the pale beige shade included. Luckily the dark matte brown is the perfect crease shade to accompany the other more shimmery duos. I wouldn't recommend this duo because I'm sure you all have a matte brown for the crease hanging around however I have been using it for crease work whilst using the shimmery duos. Next is Meteor Shower which is easily my pick from the bunch. The bronze shade is amazing all over the lid and despite being shimmery I experienced no fall out but instead a smooth application. The purple and brown swirled half is interesting and equally as beautiful. I think it creates a shimmery taupe shade but sometimes it can lean more purple or more brown dependent on the lighting. The last duo Blue Tide I didn't expect to like because I don't wear blue often however the steel blue is so pretty smudged underneath the lower lash line for a pop of colour. The white and blue swirl creates a beautiful light purple/brown shade that is gorgeous for a highlight for a smokey eye. I wish blue suited me more because this duo is beautiful.

LIPS

Lip Gloss 02 Charisma | Lipstick 01 Bush Pearl | Lip Salvation 03 Pomegranate
Lip Passion Plumping Lip Gloss 02 Charisma $16 here
I didn't know this was a plumping lipgloss until I went to write this and seen it said the name on the bottom. Obviously that means I didn't notice any of those ridiculous plumping characteristics of pain which is a thumbs up from me. This is probably one of my favourite and most worn lipgloss' in my collection. It's a beautiful rosy pink shade with lots of light reflecting shimmery which makes your lips look incredibly glossy and full which maybe why it's marketed as a plumping gloss. This layers well over any nude and isn't sticky at all. It does have a brush applicator which I don't mind but I know some people don't like so do be weary of that.

Pure Colour Hydra Luxe Lipstick 01 Bush Pearl $18 here
This I'm really undecided about but I think that it's down to my personal preference and what I look for in a lipstick. I love my matte lips and a punch of colour so when I first applied this I was disappointed however it is a beautiful coral red shade that is comfortable to wear, glossy and non-drying. I just didn't find myself reaching for this much at all because of my love for a matte bold lip. Red Earth do a range of matte, cream, sheer, gloss and SPF finishes so I'd be interested to try the matte or cream finishes. Not because this one was bad because it did exactly what it is marketed to do just because I would prefer the other finishes.

Lip Nectar Intensive Lip Salvation 03 Pomegranate $18 here
I've also mentioned this in a favourites post as well so I won't bang on about how good it is too much. Essentially this is a lip colour that is ideal for wearing when you have dry flakey lips because it's infused with shea butter, vitamin E and antioxidants and oh lord this is good! It's like you're painting over the shitty appearance of the flakiness and creating beautiful healthy lips without causing more damage. It's perfect for everyday wear and this literally lives in my handbag daily! It's a lifesaver and I know $18 is alot but it's seriously so smooth and hydrating you won't regret it!

Overall
I've been impressed with all of these Red Earth products and I'm so glad to have found the brand. I love the shimmer eyeshadows, primer and the stand outs for me were the lip salvation and gloss! I think if you're looking for an Australian brand that provides quality products than this is a good brand to look into. I have a 'What's On My Face' featuring some of these products coming mid next week. So keep your eye out to see some of these products in action.

Have you tried any Red Earth products? What are your thoughts?

BELLABOX NOVEMBER 2013

✎ Thursday, 28 November 2013
21 Comments
This months Bellabox arrived a little later than usual but I was really impressed with how Bellabox kept those who are subscribed in the loop via email. I think that it was handled really well by Bellabox in that regards. I was questioning whether or not I was going to do this post because honestly I'm less than impressed with this months box however I post about the good so I thought it was only fair to post about this one as well.
This month I was greeted by new packaging which I was expecting a change soon after a few make do boxes the past 2 months. I really love the chevron print and I prefer this than the bulky boxes because I don't use them afterwards. I will note I did see someones come broken and ripped due to rough handling so I'm wandering how this will hold up if there is eyeshadows in a box..
pureTAN Pure Bronze 'light/medium' 200mL RRP $29.95
I haven't heard anything about the pureTAN products so I'm happy to try this.. My only concern is the size of the sample? I don't think this is enough for one full body application and I wouldn't want to use this on just my legs and a different tan on my arms because it wouldn't match. Although I would love to try this the sample is pretty useless to me due to the size.

Indio SOS Gel 50mL RRP $72
This is an interesting product again from a brand I'd love to try however this SOS Gel is targeted to sensitive skin which I don't have. Although I would love to try before I buy with this particular brand, because it is pricey, I won't get any use from this product either. I wish that Bellabox would look at our Profiles from time to time..
Wilde Organics E'Lustrous Shea 150mL RRP $39.95
Another new brand to me but I'm happy to receive this. It's unrefined shea and coconut oil which is high in Vitamins A, E and F. I'm thinking of using this as a cleansing balm, has anyone tried this yet? How are you using it?
Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Make Up Correction Pen RRP $11.99 (fullsize)
I don't know why this has 'new' on it because I've been aware of this product for years and I tried it probably a year ago. Maybe they reformulated it? Regardless this is a crap product, it just smears your eyeliner around. I will give this ago incase they have reformulated it but I have a feeling it'll still be a dud product.

Bellabox Pout Pencil in 'Coral Me Maybe' RRP $14.99 (fullsize)
Congratulations to Bellabox for venturing into make up - I had no idea they were! This does feel creamy when swatched and it's infused with Vitamin E and Beeswax. I like the colour I received as well, although I'm unsure if it's a true coral shade as it leans more red but regardless I like it. My only complaint is that the packaging is incredibly cheap and tacky. It's so flimsy already so I doubt it'd travel well in your handbag.. It's a shame really.

Caron Laboratories Bump Eraiser Medi Paste 30mL RRP $16.99
This is described as a bonus product for this month and I've been wanting to try this out for a while! I've seen a few reviews on this and people have said it has helped. Although I wouldn't say I have a huge problem with ingrown hairs I can get the odd one so I'll happily try this out and purchase if I think it makes a difference.
Bellabox Pout Pencils 'Coral Me Maybe'
Overall
I'm really disappointed with this months Bellabox. I think it had the potential to be a good box if the tanning product was a bigger size, the Indio product was tailored to my skincare (or at least something a little more generally everyone could use) and the Bellbox Pout Pencil was in better packaging rather than cheap flimsy tube. I considered unsubscribing after this month but I'm going to stay for the December box because it's so close to it arriving. If December lets me down I will be unsubscribing.

What did you get in your box? Were you impressed or let down?

L'OREAL COLOUR RICHE LE VERNIS SUMMER COLLECTION

✎ Wednesday, 27 November 2013
26 Comments
It's been a long time since I've done a nail post mainly because I haven't been wearing nail polish for the past month. My nails were just in a bad way so I decided to take a break for a while. These L'oreal Colour Riche Le Vernis* are limited edition for the summer months so I thought I better tell you all about them before they're all gone!
833 Wasabi Hint, 834 Banana Pop, 827 Acid Watermelon, 829 Atomic Purple
I was really excited when I received these because I have never tried L'oreal  nail polishes but have always heard really great things in the blogging community. Also these are pretty affordable coming in at just under $7 full priced. These four shades are from the Summer Collection and there is a further two shades in the collections as well.

All of the shades are very vibrant and intense colours which usually I do steer clear of but I had alot of fun wearing these. I don't think that Wasabi Hint is very flattering for me personally but the other three shades are all beautiful. Atomic Purple has to be my favourite as it provides a beautiful pop of colour that is intense but not too out there.

The formulation of these polishes really has impressed me. They apply evenly and I got away with one coat with Atomic Purple but I do think two coats provides the best coverage. They dry super fast which is a vital quality in a nail polish for me because I always smudge them! With a top coat they wear really well, for me that's four days without chipping but it will be different for everyone dependent on your nails and what you're doing etc.
833 Wasabi Hint, 834 Banana Pop, 827 Acid Watermelon, 829 Atomic Purple

Overall, I'm really impressed with the formulation, colours and wear time of these polishes! I cannot believe they're so affordable. I think these are a super easy way to make an outfit fun for the spring and summer months. I will definitely be buying more shades for this particular line because they're affordable but fantastic quality.

Currently Buy 1 get 1 free at Priceline but RRP is $6.95 each here

ON THE LIPS WITH BURT'S BEES

✎ Tuesday, 26 November 2013

Lipgloss in Rosy Dawn | Lip shine in Pucker
Over the past two weeks my love for Burt's Bees has been rekindled by a cute press pack that was sent out to me. I remember my first tinted lip balm in Rose from the brand was a staple until it went through the wash one to many times..
The Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm* has easily become one of my go-to lip balms. Being in stick form it's easy to apply and has no tint meaning no fuss during application. The product has a little bit of a gritty texture during application however once applied there is only a light layer of moisture over the lips. The lip balm is 100% natural and contains some of my favourite hydrating ingredients like coconut oil and canola oil. As for the flavour it has a peppermint scent that is non-offensive and refreshing on the lips.

As for the lips colours I have now got a slight soft spot for the new 100% Natural Lip glosses* and have a inkling feeling that I will be buying more. This shade 233 Rosy Dawn appears super shimmery in the tube however on the lips it provides a beautiful sheen over any lipstick. My favourite lipstick to pair with this has been Mac Creme Cup for the ultimate nude lip. The other lip colour I receive was the 100% Natural Lip Shine in 050 Pucker*. This is meant to offer more of a moisturising shine to the lips than the lipgloss formulation and I think that it does. The formulation is smooth and undetectable once applied but offer a lovely tint to the lips. I admit I haven't been wearing this as much as the other two products but I do think that it's a beautiful product.

With Christmas just around the corner Burt's Bees have some adorable like stocking stuffers available with an assortment of their products. See here

What are your favourite Burt's Bees products?
I'm keen to purchase some more after really enjoying these lip products!

NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE

✎ Monday, 25 November 2013
16 Comments
Last week I updated you all on my Morning Skincare Routine so today I'm following that up with what I slap on my face in the evenings. I'm really happy with how my skin is looking at the moment and the products I'm using seem to be doing wanders so I'm excited to share it all with you. Also I want to mention these are the products I use after my make up is removed and when my skin has no active breakouts. I will be doing other skincare posts to share what I use in those circumstances soon.

Step 1: Cleanse
I won't bang on about this cleanser too much because I constantly rave about this line. The Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash is something I constantly come back too. I do really enjoy other cleansers but this is just my favourite. It helps remove all traces of dirt and impurities but doesn't strip the skin of the natural oils. It smells amazing and I would highly recommend this cleanser for anyone with oily/combination skin. I generally do a double cleanse with this every night.

Step 2: Exfoliate
I haven't been leaning towards manual exfoliants as much as I usually do however the Sanctuary Spa Deep Cleanse Facial Exfoliating Pore Refiner* lives in my shower for the days that I feel like my skin needs decongesting, this is a great quick fix. If I am using this I cleanse once with my cleanser than use this for the second cleanse. I really enjoy how fine yet effective the beads are in this exfoliant which is something I thought I'd never say as I usually loveee gritty scrubs. I have only been using this once or twice a week.

Step 3: Tone
I know alot of people don't use a toner morning and night but I just can't go without it! I'm currently using the Couleur Caramel Tonic Lotion and really have been enjoying the way it rebalances my oils without stripping the skin or feeling harsh. It's fantastic at decongesting the skin and refreshing my complexison. It does take a little to soak in but that doesn't bother me too much because of the great qualities of the product.
Step 4: Treat
I have seen a dramatic change in my skin since using these two products in conjunction with one another. The first is the John Plunkett Essentials Glyco Peel* which is an exfloiant containing 25% Gloyolic Acid. This sounds really scary but it is an amazing gentle product that helps remove dead skin cells and leave your skin glowing and feeling incredible. I did a full review on it here so make sure to check it out if you're interested. So I use that for a 7 days and then I take a week break from I use the Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost* instead. I never thought I would find something that would trump my Kosmea Rosehip Oil but this is incredible. Essentially it's a blend of different oils including rosehip, seabuckthorn, pomegranate as well as others that work together to brighten the skin. I've been shocked on the results I've been seeing using this, it's just incredible and I will be purchasing the full size once I've used up this trial one.
Step 5: Moisturise
I first apply my It's Potent! Eye Cream by Benefit which I've been using all year and I'm only nearing the bottom now. It's a really good quality eye cream for those of us who don't necessarily have problems in that area but still want moisture and prevent any wrinkles appearing. It sinks in quickly and soothes the area. I'm not sure I'll repurchase but it's still a fantastic product. I apologise for the state of my Arbonne Night Repair Creme* but I guess it goes to show that it is well loved. I'm nearly finished this moisturiser and I'm really sad because it's just such an amazing creme for restoring the skin. Every morning I wake up with plump, supple skin when I use this and I'm really impressed with the quality of this product. I did a full review on it and I've been using it daily ever since. It is pretty expensive so I'm not sure if I'll repurchase but overall an amazing night creme.

CARMEX MOISTURE PLUS ULTRA HYDRATING LIP BALM

✎ Friday, 22 November 2013
20 Comments

Summer is fast approaching and the change in seasons is making my skin, hair and lips dry out again. So instead of wearing my pretty peach and coral lipsticks that I have rotated into my everyday make up (who wants to see a post of my favourites?!) I have been opting for a tinted lip balm and literally I have fallen in love with these Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Balms*. These were sent to me over a month ago but they seemed to have got lost in transition but I'm so glad I found them in my stash. At the moment I have a pink and peach shade open however I've been going for the peach shade most of all. Both provide a 'sheer tint' of colour as the name suggests whilst really hydrating the lips. The best part of these balms is they don't make any dry patches stand out but instead mask those pesky flakey 'bits'.

I would highly recommend these if the transition of seasons is drying out your lips. This moisturise and give your lips a sheer tint which is really pretty for everyday.

What are you favourite tinted lip balms?

MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

✎ Thursday, 21 November 2013
29 Comments
My last morning skincare routine was back in May and I realised looking back I no longer use any of those products so I thought it was time for an update. Let's sidetrack and let me mention how happy/proud I am of how my photography is improving (if you click on that link to my last routine you'll know what I'm talking about) I'm still learning, playing around and all that but it's slowly getting to where I want it too be :)

I'm really happy with my current morning routine and I feel it has been working for me really well. It's pretty basic but that's how I like to keep things in the mornings. If you have any suggestions of skincare items you'll think I'll enjoy leave them in the comments because I love trying out new products!

Step 1: Cleanse
I know some people don't see cleansing in the morning as important as cleansing of a night time but it really is! Plus it freshens your face for the day ahead. I'm currently using the Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser* in the shower or over the sink dependent on whether I'm showering or not. I like using a cleanser that boasts 'radiance' or 'illuminating' characteristics because I like my skin to be looking fresh before I apply make up which is exactly what this does. It's a gel constiency, doesn't dry my skin out or leave it feeling tight which I appreciate in a cleanser. I can't speak for this in terms of removing make up but as a lovely wake me up in the mornings it's great!

Step 2: Tone
Again, I know alot of people don't use toners but I cannot skip this step as I find it so refreshing! I've been so in love with this Couleur Caramel Tonic Lotion lately because it's so good making sure any impurities are gone and also rebalancing my oils.  Although it's not a vital factor for me, this is 100% organic which I appreciate and it really does work at decongesting the skin. I apply this on a cotton pad and swipe all over my face. It does take a little to sink in but I love the refreshing nature of toning and this one is fantastic!
Step 3: Serum
I don't religiously do this step but it's one I do enjoy when I do. Previous to finding Indeed Laborities Hydraluon I didn't bother with a serum in the morning because I didn't want to overload my skin but this product I don't count as an extra step really. If you've heard the blogger hype around this serum you'll probably know it's a gel formula that is full of hydralonronic acid which helps the skin retain moisture. When this is applied and still tacky you go over with your daily moisturiser and this simply makes your moisturiser achieve optimal hydration for the skin. I find I use less product when I use this in conjunction with my moisturiser which is nice especially if you use expensive products.

Step 4: Eye Cream
This Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Lift Perfecting Serum* has been my eye cream of choice during the day. I prefer to use this for morning because it's hydrating, illuminating and really helps at depuffing my eye area whilst still being a really light formulation. When applied it has a cooling sensation and I always see a noticable difference in brighteness around my eye area and a decrease in my eye bags when I'm using this product. I think that this is holy grail status in terms of skincare because of the results I see when I use it. Although it is hefty in price I think it's something I will be repurchasing as I've never had a better match for my eye creams compared to this.

Step 5: Moisturise
I have proclaimed my love for The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream over and over on my blog (see full review) so I won't talk too much about it. It's just perfect for when the days start getting hotter. I find this perfect for injecting moisture into my skin but not making it feel more oily. It's a gel consistency which I appreciate and it just sinks into the skin like a dream. If you have oily skin than this is a must try during the summer months especially!

I also want to mention I'm currently eating well and exercising everyday so I think that has also contributed to my skin looking alot clearer. I think with my current routine and those factors it's really benefiting my skin. As I said if you have any recommendations of products or any you'd like to see me review do leave them in the comments!

BABE SCRUB

✎ Wednesday, 20 November 2013
17 Comments
Today I have a bit of a different post all about two body scrubs from the brand newly launch brand 'Babe Scrub'. If you've heard of Frank scrub that launched this year and took off all over instagram you may have also been intrigued by the concept like I was. When I was contacted by the lovely Kim founder of 'Babe Scrub' I was super excited to try out a dry scrub.

I was sent two different scrubs from the three available from Babe Scrub. Apart from the Coffee and Green Tea there is also a Himalayan Pink Salt Body Scrub which also sounds amazing. Now these scrubs are marketed in a really fun way which I really like. All the instructions and descriptions are written in a clever laid back way which is refreshing to see a brand do. It reminds me of Soap and Glory descriptions but way cheekier! For example the instructions on the packet is:

'jump in the shower or bathtub with yourself, your lover, your bestie, or all three. get wet. take a handful of babe and rub in circular motion all over your body(ies), giving extra love & attention to any wobbly bits or 'problem' areas. rinse as you go'

The packaging that these come in is a snap-lock bag which make it really easy to store in your bathroom and isn't big and bulky. Each scrub is described to have enough for 1-3 uses depending on how you're using it but personally I've used my coffee scrub 3 times already and I think I have at least 2 more full body uses.

No 1 Green Tea
Ingredients: fresh green tea, seaweed, sweet almond oil, essential oils, sugar, mineral salts

Green Tea is amazing for the skin and is packed with lots of antioxidants and healing properties which help protect the skin from free radicals. It also can help increase elasticity in the skin which will help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The sugar used has natural occurring Alpha Hydroxy Acid which is known for it's anti wrinkle properties as well as gently removing dry skin and unblocking pores for glowing skin. Seaweed is a powerful natural detoxifier that draws out toxins and impurities whilst simulating circulation which can minimise cellulite. The organic oils (the best bit!) contain naturally occurring fatty acids which nourish the skin and help prevent moisture loss which relieve dry itching skin.

If you don't like the smell of green tea then you won't like this. The smell is fairly potent but in saying that once applied and rinsed the scent doesn't linger at all. The Green Tea scrub is designed mainly for detoxifying the body. It also is meant to help reduce wrinkles, acne, scars and redness whilst also easing any skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. I think that it is very detoxifying on the body and perfect for using before you're applying a fake tan. I also found that when I used this before shaving I experienced less irritation on my legs (I usually get alot of redness after shaving).

No 2 Coffee
Ingredients: virgin roasted & ground coffee beans, sweet almond oil, essential oils, sugar, mineral oils

Unlike other coffee scrubs on the market, like Frank, this babe is made from 100% virgin ground coffee which means that all the active ingredients are still in the scrub rather than been stripped out. Caffeine is used because it's a fantastic active ingredient for reducing cellulite. Like the green tea scrub the sugar contains Alpha Hydroxy acid which helps to fight wrinkles and remove dry skin to unblock pores meaning glowing skin. The organic oils are rich in antioxidants and naturally occurring fatty acids to help soften the skin and prevent any moisture loss occurring.

This smells exactly like a coffee shop. I don't drink coffee but I love the smell so I knew as soon as I opened this bad boy I was going to be impressed. This one is aimed at reducing stretch marks, cellulite, lumps and bumps, acne, scars, flaky skin and also easing eczema and psoriasis. This is a fantastic scrub for smoothing out the body and removing dry skin patches. I can't say I've seen a noticeable difference in my cellulite but then I can't claim to have any really severe issues with it either.

Overall
I love that these contain all basic ingredients that are there for a reason and you know what it is it's doing.  The most impressive thing about both of these scrubs is how soft my skin feels after use. Usually with dry more abrasive scrubs my skin feels so dry after towelling off but because of the inclusion of the essential oils my skin was left feelings so soft, smooth and moisturised which is probably the characteristic of these scrubs that won me over. There is no denying they can get messy in the shower but I think that the results I got were really impressive and I would buy these again. If you've been wanting to try out a dry scrub I would definitely check out these one because they leave your skin feeling amazing! AND it's an Australian brand so who doesn't love supporting local brands.

Both scrubs retail for $21.95 each including shipping, for more information visit Babe Scrub

Have you tried a dry scrub? What did you think?

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE FOR HER

✎ Tuesday, 19 November 2013
15 Comments
I'm going to confess - I'm a Christmas nut. This time of year is my favourite time and the lead up to Christmas I really enjoy. I am going to do a few gift guides this year one for his, her and then stocking stuffers. I'm also going to be reviewing a few products in between that I think would be perfect for gifts so keep an eye out for that.

This is one of my favourite releases from the Guy Bourdin collection and it would make the perfect gift for any beauty lover. The palette includes a lip gloss, three eyeshadows, a blush and bronzer so it's the perfect palette for any girl wanting to try NARS or someone who travels alot.

This is a super cute set including 3x20mL perfumes from Chloe. The perfumes included are the original  Chloe, Love Chloe and then L'eau de Chloe so you get all three! This would be ideal for someone you're unsure what scents they usually go for as they get all three.

Again a perfect fragrance for anyone you're unsure of their usual taste. This is an interesting one as it only contains 1 molecule and it's designed to adjust to everyone's different PH levels so it gives off a different scent on everyone. I really want to try this one but it would be perfect for anyone because it'll adjust to best suit them.

Aesop is a beautiful skincare brand that have released a variety of different gift sets ranging from $60 too $160. This one is my pick of the bunch because it's from the Parsley Seed line which I love. This comes with a 200mL Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser, 200mL Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner and a 60mL size of the Anti-Oxidant hydrator. Perfect for any skincare junkie and great value!

If you're anything like me you usually don't spend alot of candles during the year so what better gift to give than a luxe set of candles! This includes a range of the famous Diptyque candles which give off the most amazing scents. This includes 3 from the permanent line and then 2 limited edition ones as well but a good variety is included.

This is an amazing set  in regards to value and quality wise. I was sent this and I will be doing a full review however I had to include it in this gift guide! It includes one full size product and two deluxe samples. This particular set is for combination/oily skin but there is two other sets that Dermalogica have released just in time for Christmas. Great value as you are only paying for the full size product but get two additional decent sized sample products!

Another candle but this time a bit more affordable! Urban Rituelles have this beautiful candle for the festive season. This is one of the best scents I've ever had. It isn't two spicy but instead has plum and fig scents which is sweeter than most other Christmas season candles. It burns for 40 hours and overall I'm really impressed! Perfect for those pesky Kris Kringles!

Stila have also come out with some beautiful sets for the Christmas season and this one caught my eye in particular. This gives you a range of the Convertible Colours which are so popular and I'm dying to try. A great palette to give to your sister, best friend or yourself ;)

This is such a beautiful set which I would consider purchasing for your mother, sister or anyone who enjoys a little bit of Jo Malone. The Pomegranate Nior line is one of the best selling lines for Jo Malone and that's for a good reason - it's amazing. This comes with a body/hand wash, candle and the cologne as well. A beautiful luxurious gift to give!

I want this and I don't even have a bath so anyone who does have a bath should want it! This comes with a range of the amazing bath and shower oils which are just beautiful. This is a great way to try out all the different oils and see which one is your favourites. This is a beautiful set to give to anyone who enjoys a bit of down time... And isn't that every lady?

What gifts will you be giving this Christmas?

MICHELLE BRIDGES 12WBT WEEK 1 UPDATE

✎ Monday, 18 November 2013
8 Comments
Week 1 is officially down and I have so many things I want to talk to you all about. If you're unsure what it is that I'm talking about I did an introductory post to let you all know a bit of background to why etc so check that out!

EXERCISE
At the start of the week I was really nervous particularly about the exercise side of things because I'm terribly unfit! When I looked over the plan for the week it looked too hard to even try but after the first one I realised that it all looks worse when you're reading over it. As the week went on I really enjoyed the exercise side of things because you're able to work at your own ability. My boyfriend and I worked out every week day and had alot of fun with the different videos available to you.
This is the overview of what a week looks like - you can see what I mean why I say it looks daunting! We didn't do Saturday because we were busy which I was a little bummed about but I'm trying not to get myself to hung up on things like that and just do what I can. I really enjoyed the toning workouts because it's a mixture of cardio and core work. We have decided to do the 'At Home' option so we either do a circuit or watch the videos that are on the allocated days but you do have different options like outdoors or gym so you can really tailor it to your liking.

FOOD
Everything is really set up for you whilst doing 12WBT and I've been really impressed with the way it all works! The two main things you get are a nutrition plan and shopping list.
Nutrition Plan: this gives you breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snack and drink options as you can see below for a day last week.
The thing I like about this is the fact that you are able to customise out the meals if there is something you won't like. If you're going to have leftovers from a dinner you can change the next days lunch to cater for leftovers. Because I'm doing it with my boyfriend I don't have leftovers however if you're going to do it alone it's good to keep in mind as most meals are for two.
Shopping list: this is super easy to follow as it's all organised into different categories like 'fruit/vege', 'dairy' etc. It was really interesting shopping because usually we go down each aisle browsing the specials however this had everything we needed and there wasn't any deviating from the list because something was cheap or because we had a craving.

I'm finding it a bit hard when it comes to snacks. As you can see from the above picture you're given a list of different snacks within your leftover calories to choose from. My problem is that there isn't alot of options that are super quick and easy. Also I'm finding I'm not getting hungry between breakfast and lunch and I work out in the afternoon so I don't want to eat before I work out so I'm still figuring when the best time to eat them is! I know 1200 calories isn't much so it's important for me to eat the snacks as well and I want too so as I said I'm still figuring it out but I'm sure I'll have an update next week.

Overall we are loving the food and I've noticed a difference in how I feel. All the meals are very clean, simple and fresh! I find we are taking the time to measure everything and enjoying it. Prior to being on this plan Isaac (my boyfriend) would do alot of the cooking because I honestly aren't very good in the kitchen and always found it such a chore but now I'm helping out and we're doing it together which I'm  enjoying.

MEASUREMENTS
As I said in last weeks post I still have to do my pre-plan measurements which I dreaded as I am aware that I'm the heaviest I've ever been. But down below are my starting measurements.
So 73.8kg was a tad cringe worthy for me as it is heavy but I knew it was going to be like that and I'm excited to started feeling better about myself. Weigh-in day for the week is Wednesday which I found a bit strange because it's mid-week but for last week I weighed in at 71.2kg which is meant I lost 2.6kg. Again, like I said in the beginning this has never been about losing weight it's about adapting a healthy lifestyle but it was nice to see my body change within only two days of change.

I think that's everything that I wanted to update you all on! If you have any questions leave them below. I will be updating you all each Sunday. I usually don't post on the weekends but we want to share out favourite meals for the week with pictures, my measurements and how we're feeling so every Sunday there will be a post.

Is anyone else doing 12WBT? How are you finding it? Any tips to get me eating the snacks?

LUST HAVE IT F.A.B NOVEMBER BOX

✎ Friday, 15 November 2013
20 Comments
Lust Have It recently branched out and launched another option to subscribed to which is really exciting for the beauty box lovers out there. This one incorporates both beauty and fashion for $35 per month. I think that's pretty affordable considering the items I received. I really wanted to let you all know about this box because I think it's a fantastic option if you're sick of the traditional all beauty boxes and are looking for something a little different.

Beauty Items
Duri Nail Polish in Voodoo and Black Diamond RRP $18 each (both fullsize)
I've never heard of this brand so I'm interested to see how to see how these perform. The price and packaging reflect Essie polishes so hopefully the quality is there. I like that LHI have included a bright and a basic to cater for different preferences.

Out Of Africa Pure Unrefined Shea Butter RRP $9.99 (full size)
This is really interesting and something I've never heard of! Basically it's the most natural unrefined form of Shea Butter that is meant to nourish the skin without leaving any residue. Mine has dried hard at the moment so I couldn't get any out of the tin (damn you rainy cold weather) but I'm excited to give this a go!

Model Co Colourbox Eyeshadow in Bahamas 01 RRP $28 (full size)
If you're a long time follower of More Than Adored you'll know I've never been a fan on Model Co. I don't like the tacky packaging and all the products I've tried haven't been very good. This is an eyeshadow that is a fairly pretty highlight shade so I'm interested to try it and see how this measures up - hopefully it changes my perception of Model Co products.

Fashion Items

F.a.B Accessories Aviator Sunglasses RRP $19.95
These are perfect for the summer months and a classic design as LHI describes them. These actually are quite good quality and I would pay $19.95 for them if they were in a shop. I think LHI did well by including a design most people would like.

F.a.B XO Necklace RRP $12.95
I do think LHI are right on trend with this inclusion but unfortunately this isn't a piece that I would wear. I would've like a simple heart or another pendant other than the XO symbol.

F.a.B Statement Cuff RRP $24.95
I really like this as well! I don't often buy statement pieces for myself because I often find I pay $25 for them and then don't wear them enough. This is really classic and cute - a piece that will stay in trend and it feels of good quality as well :)

Overall
I think Lust Have It is in a really good place at the moment. I have been receiving their normal monthly boxes and the quality has been better than I've experienced before and now with the branching out I think they're really hitting the ball out of the park. This box was a fun mix of beauty and fashion which is refreshing to see but more importantly you definitely get your moneys worth! I like how LHI included two timeless pieces as well as the one on-trend accessory and I like the mix in with the beauty. The accessories don't feel cheap at all and are similar to those found in Diva so I think the monthly boxes are well worth it.

This would be a fantastic option if you're a bit sick of the traditional beauty samples and want to spice up your accessory life. Well done LHI!

What do you think of the newest edition to the LHI family?

INTERVIEW: JOANNA WHEATON FOUNDER OF SHANGHAI SUZY

✎ Thursday, 14 November 2013

Yesterday I posted a review on the amazing Shanghai Suzy lipstick range that launched in August this year. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to ask Joanna the founder of Shanghai Suzy a few questions and I'm super excited to share this with you all.
Photo of Joanna by Owen Zhang
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm a 27 year-old Melbournian who lives for a good chuckle, lipstick, fashion, cheese and wine (ideally enjoyed together), and my family and friends! I tend to be a bit of a workaholic but I plan on working on that (ahhh oops more work!!!)

What inspired you to started your own business? Why lipsticks?
I'm a huge lipstick lover and I am always on the lookout for new exciting colours, especially in matte formulas (which I am obsessed with!). I have never finished a lipstick in my life as I either lose it when I'm out or get tired of it and move onto the next one! With that insight I really saw the need for a lipstick brand that delivered in terms of colour/pigment, formula and packaging that was super affordable. A go-to brand where I could always find the latest colours rather than having to search high and low through all different brands for the 'it' colour of the minute! And so Shanghai Suzy was born - a cheap and chic fashion lipstick brand with limited edition colours that are updated every 6 months.

-The brand name has a ring to it, is there any meaning behind 'Shanghai Suzy'?
Each of the Shanghai Suzy colours is named after someone special in my life. I was going to name a shade after my girlfriend Suzy, who is from Shanghai.  When I said 'Shanghai Suzy' out aloud I thought it had a great ring to it and so it instantly became the name of the brand!

Shanghai Suzy only launched in August this year, I can only imagine how much work has gone into starting up the business. How long has it been in the making? How has the experience been so far?
It has taken me about three years to get to this point but to be honest it definitely should not have taken that long! It was tough to get the project completed with my full time and full on marketing job plus modelling (which I used to do a lot of) and it took me forever to save the pennies to make the dream a reality!  And I was adamant that the business would be self-funded. But I finally bit the bullet in April and quit my full time job to get the brand off the ground, things moved pretty quickly after that! The process has been inspiring, exciting, fun and rewarding.

Could you explain a bit more about the two different formulations? What makes them special?
Even though the brand is affordable the formulas are fantastic quality and have received rave reviews from makeup artists and beauty press. The matte is a creamy matte so it lasts ages, has a matte look finish and builds up to an amazing bold result with so much pigment - but it doesn't dry out the lips. The nourish formula has jojoba seed oil to make it super moisturising - a great look for softer colours and I find it to be very daytime/office friendly.  Both formulas smell and taste like grape bubblegum so they're a pleasant change to many of the waxy smelling lippies in the market.

Is there any particular shade from the current range you're particularly fond of?
It changes weekly - my top three on rotation are Miss Jade Orange, Miss Sanja Fuchsia, Miss Claire Fire Engine Red.

What are your favourite make up trends for summer? Which Shanghai Suzy shades fit into those trends?
This Summer I plan to regularly be sporting a (fake) bronzed complexion with a bold, bright almost neon lip - Miss Sally Watermelon or Miss Jade Orange for example. I'm also loving a bold, pigment-rich pink or coral eyeshadow with a nude lip like Miss Emma Taupe.

We love to hear a bit of behind-the-scenes - what is a typical day for you at Shanghai Suzy HQ?
My days vary dramatically! The mornings could be spent in the office working on merchandising, the books, PR and marketing, product development etc or I could be out on the road visiting salons or setting up new stores. The afternoons are often spent packing orders, visiting the post office, catching up on emails etc.

What's in store for the future of Shanghai Suzy?
Our new AW14 range will be released in Feb/March with some seriously amazing colours, I'm so excited! Hopefully we will continue to grow and expand, we're currently in 16 stores so hopefully the Shanghai Suzy family continues to grow!

I hope you all enjoyed hearing a bit more from Joanna. I had alot of fun testing out the products and learning about Shanghai Suzy! I've fallen in love with the brand. Thank you to Joanna for answering my questions and I cannot wait for AW14 range to be released :)

Don't forget if you missed yesterday's review to check it out because there is some gorgeous shades available in the SS13 collection now. See post here

SHANGHAI SUZY LIPSTICKS REVIEW + SWATCHES

✎ Wednesday, 13 November 2013

I'm really excited about today's post because it's all about lipsticks! Shanghai Suzy is a newly launched Australian company bringing affordable quality lipsticks to the market. Today I'll be talking you through each of the shades and what I think of the two formulations available. Tomorrow I'll be posting an interview with Joanna the founder of Shanghai Suzy so check back in to learn more about the amazing new brand!
Shanghai Suzy is a lipstick-only brand that do not test on animals or contain any animal-derived ingredients which I think is fantastic. The company launched in August 2013 with a spring-summer collection containing eight amazing shades. All of the lipsticks have an incredible scent which when I first opened one I thought smelt like Hubba Bubba and funnily enough when I was reading the website the scent was actually inspired by Grape Hubba Bubba. How amazing!?!?!

The two formulations included in this range are 'matte' and 'nourish'.
The matte shades are long-lasting, creamy and thick but I find them to be one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks I've ever tried. They are super creamy and allow you to apply them straight out of the bullet which I usually can't do with the likes of Mac matte shades. You can also press your lips together to help apply the product which again is not something I can usually do with other matte lipsticks. I think if you're after a long-lasting lip shade that won't be overly drying or feel cakey than these are a fantastic option.

The nourish option took me by surprise mainly because other nourishing lipsticks are usually really sheer. These contain jojoba seed oil to help moisturise the lips which I do find helps if you're having a dry lip day but still want a bit of colour on the lips. The formulation of these won't cling to any of those dry bit and they feel amazing to wear. I found that these are incredibly opaque which I didn't expect.  They do have a slight sheen and aren't as long lasting as the matte shades but they don't lack pigmentation at all which is a huge plus for a nourishing lipstick!
Onto the shades available in this range. I was really impressed with the range of shades, there is a fantastic nude, some mid tone shades and then some really vivid on-trend ones as well.

'Miss Sally' Watermelon: This shade has been one of my most reached for from the range. It's a matte finish which I love and is really easy to wear especially at this time of the year. It has a slight coral feel to it and can be sheered out or built up for a real pop of colour.

'Miss Emma' Taupe: This shade has really surprised me because I hate nudes usually. This is a nourish formula which is super creamy and a dream to apply. I thought because it was described as 'taupe' it wouldn't work for me so I did put it aside for a few days too scared to try it but once I braved it I couldn't believe how flattering it was. It's won me over completely so if you're scared of nude lips like me try this!

'Miss Sanja' Fuchsia: Fuchsia shades and me go hand in hand so I love this one. It's a matte finish which again can be sheered out easily or built up for a bright pop.

'Miss Jade' Orange: If you've seen this post you'll know up till recently I was so scared of the orange lip trend. I now love it and can't get enough of bright orange lips! This is a matte finish and I highly recommend finding an orange lipliner if you're going to grab this one because it can be hard to get a crisp line but it's beautiful and affordable if you're wanting to try out the trend :)

'Miss Claire' Fire Engine Red: This pulls more orange on me but I've included a lip swatch and a normal one on my arm so you can see how it differs. Again a matte formula which I love and this one would be perfect for people who don't think red lips suit them because there is that orange undertone which is super flattering- especially on blondes!

'Miss Brooklyn' Rose: This is a beautiful nourish formula that is subtle and really wearable. I worn this when I've done a smokey eye make up and it balanced the look well. This type of shade is a staple.

'Miss Hannah' Blood Red: I am slightly disappointed with this shade. It is a nourish formula which isn't the problem it's the fact it's soooo creamy and pigmented! If applied with a lip brush instead of directly out of the tube there would be more control and allow you to create a crisp line which I struggled with getting straight from the bullet. Perhaps the most high maintenance and 'fiddly' shade from the collection but the colour is gorgeous once applied. It's not a 'grab and go' one though.

Miss Georgina' Pink Plum: Another nourish formula which I have been loving! I really like the balance of this shade between pink and plum. This would be perfect if you're wanting to try out plum lips but are a little bit scared as it offers a little pink to lessen the intensity. A gorgeous shade.
My favourites shades at the moment are Miss Sally, Miss Emma and Miss Georgina because they're all unique to my collection and are not shades I'd usually buy for myself but are ones I've really enjoyed trying out. I think that Shanghai Suzy have nailed the collection offering something for everyone. Both of the finishes are a dream to apply and wear throughout the day. I think the concept of offering on-trend shades at an affordable price on the Australian market is amazing and I will be keeping an eye out for the next collection that's for sure!

Tomorrow I'll posting be posting an interview I have done with the beautiful founder of Shanghai Suzy Joanna - keep an eye out for it in the morning! It's alot of fun and I always love hearing about the faces behind brands so I hope you guys enjoy it too!
