If you've seen a few other of my posts on More Than Adored talking about these shadow pencils you wouldn't be surprised that I've decided to do a whole post on them. The Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils are Covergirls' response to the cream shadow craze. The range offers 6 different shades and promises that they're creamy to apply, blendable, long-lasting and crease proof.
Despite having less of the colour range available in the US the shades that are available are all beautiful and wearable. I was sent three shades and after a day of wearing it on a sticky hot day resulted in no creasing I had to rush out and buy them all. The formulation of these pencils won't be everybody's cup of tea, they're not super creamy and require a bit of blending for even coverage but once set on the eyelid they do not budge at all. I thought it may have been a one-off that first day but continued use confirmed that these are the best affordable cream shadows on the market, yes better then the Maybelline Colour Tattoos hands down.
Ginger Flame | Ice Flame | Silver Flame | Melted Caramel Flame | Crystal Flame | Ashen Glow Flame
If you have trouble with eyeshadow lasting all day or the Maybelline Colour Tattoos just didn't work for you, I cannot recommend these enough. I've all-of-a-sudden got oily eyelids and all other cream shadows crease on me throughout the day but not these bad boys! Set with a powder eyeshadow, these will prolong any eyeshadow look without the ugly creasing appearing throughout the day. Yes they do require a bit of working applying the product but it's all worth it for the long wear you get.

Ooh love the shades! Ginger and crystal flame looks nice!
ReplyDeleteA cream eye shadow that lasts all day? I'm pretty much sold! I unfortunately don't use much Cover Girl products but these look divine, love the look of the caramel or silver flame for the colder months coming up!

I don't own any cream eye shadows except for my Laura Mercier Metallic Eye Creme. Do these break easily? I find that a lot of shadow sticks are creamy but they snap off easily.
ReplyDeleteThese are super pretty! I love how they've got shimmer, unlike the Rimmel scandaleyes eyeshadow sticks. I love using an MUA eyeshadow stick as a base, but I've only got a brown so I may have to pick some of these up for a change.
ReplyDeleteThese seem very promising although I'm still a bit weary because of how badly the cream smokey pencil shadows worked on many ladies in the past! I really love the charcoal and peach shade!
ReplyDeleteWow, I need to try these!
ReplyDeleteI think I still prefer Color Tattoos, my favourite of those is Barely Branded and I thought the Crystal Flame might be similar. Unfortunately on my skin it's more white instead of champagne and sparkly instead of shimmery... Doesn't help that I was in a hurry and didn't have time to blend properly. Overall I just found them a bit more effort and less forgiving than Color Tattoos, but Ginger Flame and Ice Flame look great in your swatches and seeing as you're so impressed I might have to give them another go :)
ReplyDeleteCream Eyeshadows never work for me! So disappointing! I love the concept but they always crease on me
ReplyDeletelove the blue and the ginger shade, they are gorgeous :D
