If you're anything like me you've been waiting for the Maybelline ColorSensational Nude Collection* to release in Australia ever since eyeing them all over US blogs. Reminecent of higher ends brands like Hourglass, Maybelline have came out with a whole line of beautiful neutral nude lipsticks designed to cater for every skin tone.
The formulation is smooth, pigmented and creamy with a glossy finish. These lipsticks are nothing like anything I would usually wear but I've been enjoying them immensely. They offer a moisturising nude lip that is perfect for everyday wear. I find I'm reaching for these because they're not high maintenance on the lips and I don't have to be constantly checking my lips after eating or drinking. I am a little disappointed with the limited range in comparison to the shades available in the US, with only six shades reaching Australian shores. The colours that are available are gorgeous and I've been wearing all six on rotation. I wasn't sure about Sultry Sand but it's gorgeous topped with a light pink lip gloss.
My most worn shades have to be Tantalizing Taupe and Brazen Beige however I do like all the shades available. I think when buying these shades you need to keep in mind that they're not going to be particularly long wearing. These aren't marketed as a long-wear lipstick and they're not but they are really easy to apply without a mirror and fade beautifully. Overall I would recommend these nude lipsticks! They're beautiful and I think that the range that is available will cater to a large range of skin tones. A beautiful collection - well done Maybelline!

I bought Sultry Sand thinking it would suit me but it's far too pale and concealer like.. I use it now to tone down the colour of other lipsticks, or as a base to tone down the natural colour of my lips before applying a different lipstick! x

Out of all of them I like brazen beige the most, I don't think any of the other would be that complementary on me unless I mix them with another pinkier shade! Thanks for sharing though, I think this is a very unique shade range from the drugstore!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit disappointed with the shade range as when I swatched these in store none of them really appealed to me, or seemed like they would suit me. I wish they brought over more of the peachy shades. I'm sure these shades will suit lots of people though!

ReplyDeleteBeing as I live in the states, I actually haven't seen these before in the store! I think it's quite a lovely collection being a drugstore brand. Sultry Sand and Brazen Brown are very pretty!

ReplyDeleteI think that Maybelline did a really great job creating a truly nude line (not a pink based one like most brands attempt!) but like many others, I'm not convinced that I could find one right for me. They do look lovely though. x
