MY NEW BEST FRIEND

The past two weeks has been crazy with the combination of the flu, bad eating and hormonal breakouts let's just say my skin has been extremely spotty. Luckily, Clinique sent over the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel* which I've become quite dependent on.

The new addition to the Clinique anti-blemish line boasts a 4-in-1 Clearing Complex - that pretty much means that it has four different problems associated with blemishes it's going to help treat or reduce. For the blemishes and exfoliation it contains Salicylic Acid that will take away dead skin cells and clear up spots. For oil control, Laminaria Sacharina to help with lowering production of oil. Lastly, sea whip extract to reduce surface redness and comfort the skin. It also is recommended to either use a small amount all over the face followed up by a moisturiser or as a spot treatment.
It all sounds pretty nifty right?

At first I was a little unsure about it because I've tried some products from the Anti-Blemish line and they've been quite harsh for my skin however after playing around with this product for a little while it is a real gem if applied sparingly. This may be oil-free but it does contain alcohol so I find it is best applied before any moisturising products to ensure that it won't dry out the area. I take an ever-so-small amount on my finger and dab it over the problem areas before going in with rose-hip oil along with whatever moisturiser I'm using. I tend to only use this at night because I generally don't use spot treatments under make up but that's not to say it can't be.

Overall I'm impressed with the new addition to the Clinique Anti-Blemish line. It is the most effective treatment I've personally found and I can see myself repurchasing in the future. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have some serious skin issues happening because it is potent stuff but if you're looking for something to help acne/breakouts this is a winner and well worth the spend.

  2. Might have to go out and try this, because my skin has gone absolutely nuts in the past week! Can't put my finger on a cause, but I'd really like it to go away! Lovely review :) X

    1. Aww I hate when your skin goes nuts and you don't even understand why. It's the worst feeling.

  3. I've tried the other spot treatment that they had, though I don't recall being a major fan. This does sound awesome though. I've never really thought to apply spot treatment before moisturiser, it's always been the last step for me. I think that I think it might get rubbed away when I use an oil/cream over the top?

    1. I find it works better for me because it doesn't dry the skin out. I still find I get the benefits of the spot treatment :) I just wait a few minutes before applying the next product.

  4. My skin is always crazy and in need of some serious treatment stuff. This sounds great for that! I'm pretty happy with my current spot treatment, but maybe I'll check this out in the future.

  5. That's great that it works for you! Ever since I've used benzyl peroxide gel for my small blemishes I've not needed to use medication or skin care just for pimples.
