RY'S TOP SELLING CLEANSERS

✎ Monday, 14 April 2014
I always ponder what the 'best sellers' are on various websites. Call me nosey but I love know what everyone else is buying. I've teamed up with RY to showcase the three top selling cleansers and share my thoughts on them. Prior to receiving the parcel I had no idea what the three products were and some I wasn't expecting at all.
The Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel is a cult favourite and one I was not surprised appearing in the line up. I'm particularly fond of the Dermal Clay Cleanser, literally an oily skin girls best friend, so I had high expectations - this cleanser exceeded all those expectations easily. The texture of this is what sets it apart from other gel cleansers. It's not thick and requires little working into the skin for a deep cleanse. It doesn't strip the skin of it's natural oils, it's gentle and has next to no scent. I really think the formulation of this cleanser would be suitable for any skin type and it is a joy to use.
Alpha-H is a brand that I've always been curious about but never tried and seeing this in the best-sellers caught me by surprise. I've never heard much about it! Luckily, the Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser with Thyme is amazing. It is designed for combination/oily skin to remove any excess make up, cleanse and tone with the pH of 6.5 (which means it's close to our natural skins natural pH level). It is thicker than the Dermalogica but not heavy on the skin and is very gentle. Despite being a gel cleanser this product is not meant to foam up so it is really suitable for sensitive skin types. It contains amazing ingredients like cucumber and aloe vera to soothe any sore breakouts which I have been truly appreciating. My only gripe is the scent which is very distinct and not very pleasant but given it is a cleanser and you wash it off, it's bearable.
Long-time readers of More Than Adored will know I love me some Clarins however the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser didn't blow me away immediately. This one is designed for normal/combination skin and promises to protect the skin from drying effects of hard water. On first application I was confused. It lathered well, cleansed well but upon rinsing it left a weird texture to my skin. I jumped out of the shower and after patting my face dry it was super soft and almost moisturised. The texture on the skin after the initial cleanse is what I didn't like and if you use too much of this it will leave a film on the skin so it's one to master! My favourite part of this cleanser is how my skin feels supple and soft after every use.

Have you tried these three cleansers?

  8. Had no idea these were the 3 top selling cleansers, were these in the category for higher end cleansers? Nevertheless, I do quite like all three of these brands and have products with all of them, just not their cleansers :P I'm liking the sound of the Dermalogica one!
