WHAT'S ON MY FACE #12

✎ Tuesday, 1 July 2014
I feel as though I'm either one extreme or the other at the moment with make up. I'm either wearing a full face or wearing barely nothing like last weeks WOMF post. Winter has well and truly set in and the berry lip shades are back in my daily rotation so I thought it'd be quite fitting to show you how I like to wear my berry tones on the lips.
My base I like to keep quite flawless so that there isn't any detraction from the pop of colour. I've been loving the combination of Laura Mercier Foundation Primer and Erin Bigg Mineral Liquid Powder Foundation*. The primers makes for a smooth canvas and then the foundation applies beautifully. Look out for a full review of this foundation later this week. I added a little of the Clarins Instant Concealer* under the eyes to help mask some pesky dark circles. The tiniest bit of this goes a long way!

For cheeks I don't like to wear blush with a bold lip which I know may be a bit weird to some. Instead I like to apply The Balm Bahama Mama to warm up my complexion and then Mac Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle to highlight. It's time I make a public apology to that highlight because initially I hated it but now I think it's gorgeous for a dramatic highlight.

Onto eyes and this is literally one of my favourite eye looks using the Lorac Pro Palette. I applied 'cream' all over for a base colour, 'mauve' on the outer half then blended a tiny bit of 'sable' through the crease to darken up the look. I also took 'sable' along the lower lash line and applied 'pewter' to the centre of the lid for a little sparkle. To finish off the look I smudged the Eles Powder Liner in Copper* along the outer third of the lash line and applied mascara. I used a tiny bit of Macs 'Omega' through the brows to even them out but I'm not entirely happy with this shade since darkening my roots.

For lips of course I'm wearing the gorgeous Rebel by Mac which was actually the first Mac lipstick I ever purchased. I didn't wear a liner with it on this particular day because it was the first time I wore it since last season but I totally regret it. I think for even application and wear you really do need a lip liner for this shade because it tends to bleed and feather throughout the day.

What are your favourites ways to wear a berry lip?

  1. Your hair looks like a rockstar! =) So much volume!
I'm so lazy with lip colour atm but I either use it with my everyday makeup or apply with my finger for a stain look.

  12. What a pretty look. Rebel is more wearable than I realised. I have never had a berry lip shade, this might be one to consider.
I also adore how your blog is laid out. The artistic shot of the products at the top, a clear shot of the look and scroll pictures of every product used. Brilliant.
