This month there has been a few affordable lines launch some really fantastic quality hair products. I was caught quite off guard because I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to hair products. Dove have come out with the Nourishing Oil Care line and this conditioner ridiculously good at detangling. The smell reminds me a little of baby powder but I can look past that considering how amazing it is. The Schwarkopf BC Colour Freeze line has completely blown me away especially the purple shampoo. I honestly think this is the best affordable line for blonde or colour treated hair I've tried in a long time. The Volume Boost Refresher is also a new edition to the line which is essentially a dry shampoo that offers a little bit of volume without any residue. I don't think it's as ground-breaking as the colour freeze line but it still is a fantastic product. This L'oreal Wild Stylers Next Day Hair is L'oreals answer to texturising sprays and I think that they've nailed it. This is going to give you alot of texture so it's perfect for adding grit to freshly washed hair. You only need a tiny amount so it's great value for money too.
Onto skincare and my favourite release has to be the Indeed Labs Exfoliator! This powder exfoliator is unique to any other because when mixed with water it foams up but still has little gritty bits throughout. It's easily the best powder exfoliator on the market in my opinion. Indeed Labs also launched their Hydraluron Moisture Jelly. This is different to the original serum because you don't have to use it in conjunction with a moisturiser which is great if you don't want to be mucking around with different products everyday. The packaging is on point and the product is just as effective as the original. La Roche-Posay have reformulated and relaunched the famous Effaclar Duo so that it now isn't just going to help clear breakouts but also help with reducing pigmentation. I'm still trying it out but so far so good. Another new edition to the LRP line is the Redermic R which is a Retinol anti-aging treatment. I don't quite like this in terms of a retinol treatment that is moisturising and I haven't broken out since using it yay! Biore have relaunched some of their products including the Pore Strips and Self Heating Masks but I honestly don't notice a huge difference in either products so if you liked them before you probably are still going to love them!
A lot of brands have had a huge month when it comes to make up and alot are super exciting! Arbonne have released a limited edition Country Garden Palette that comes with a Sheer Moisture Lipstick. I'm completely in love with the bronzer/highlight duo and lipstick (WOMF featuring these will be up soon) but the packaging is so bulky for what you get. Regardless, a gorgeous set for a gift or a treat for yourself. Ardell launched the Curvy lashes and they're seriously amazing. Every pair I've tried from the line have been really flattering on the eye but the 410's are easily my favourites. Staying on lashes and the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara has been released in an Extreme Black shade. I really like the bristles and formulation however the brush is super flexible which I'm not a huge fan of. Ulta 3 have came out with a whole bunch of new shades and the cheap as chips polishes are so hard to track down so obviously everyone is loving them! This shade Lotsa Fun is an opaque creamy purple so worth checking out. Bourjois is another brand that has a few new and noteworthy editions to their line including the gorgeous dark green shade in 07 and liner in 'Blue Remix'. The eyeliner is easily my pick from the two but the high quality of both new editions makes me want to try more! Recommendations?!
One of my favourite make up brands Covergirl have released the Bombshell line which includes the Volume Bombshell By Lashblast. This is a two step mascara that offers two different wands, one for volume and one for length. The formulation is fantastic and it's definitely worth a try if you're looking for a new mascara. The line also include the Bombshell Shineshadows that come in these super cute squeeze tubes. I've found it really hard to get my head around the application and consistency but after I played around with these a little I've fallen in love. They're super easy to blend and can be sheered out or built up dependent on the look you're going for.
Onto Australis and wow have they had a busy month. My pick from the new editions is the two new Pout Paste shades. Ever since they launched the Pout Pastes I wanted more so the nude peach and pinky-red are both welcomed to my collection and very much loved. An answer to the stick foundation craze is the Australis Full On Foundation. This is super thick and very intimidating when you first start applying it however I find that with a sponge it can be sheered out for a more natural, less cakey coverage. Keep your eyes peeled for a full review on this in the coming month. They've also came out with Cray for Colour Lip & Eye Crayons both ranges have impressed me! The lip crayons are a sheer lip colour but they're super comfortable and not drying at all. Not usually the type of product I would buy although it's a welcomed change. The eye crayons are a dream to apply and blend. I'm particularly obsessed with the shade Irresistibly Plum.
Now onto the releases that just didn't work out for me personally. The Herbal Essences Naked Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner duo aren't bad products at all but I felt as though they didn't keep my hair clean for as long as other products. Usually I can go two-three days easily but with these I needed to wash my hair every other day and in winter that's just not cool. The Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser was one I was super disappointed with after hearing such amazing things about it. I found the cooling/tingling sensation really intense and painfully so I couldn't continue using it. Has anyone else had that?
For make up the Covergirl Liner isn't a bad product, in fact I adore the super black formulation and the small packaging makes the pen really easy to hold. The problem I had was the nib is really stiff making it hard to apply and for me that's a make or break because I'm not great at eyeliner as it is. The two Physicians Formula mascara (CC Curl Care and Fake Out) both disappointed me purely because the formulation is so freaking dry!!! The wands are fantastic and once you've built up about twenty laters it's okay but nobody has time for that. The Mud Eyeshadow in Urban Basics is chalky and impossible to build up any sort of colour on the eye so I wouldn't recommend these shadows. The Essence Bloom Me Up! aren't horrible in terms of pigmentation but both shades just aren't very flattering on my skin tone.

I'm not a huge fan but I think that it's bearable considering the amazing results I get. x
DeleteGreat Post, thanks. Oh I must have missed the new Australis Pout Pastes, will have to remedy that. I am loving their new eye crayons too, soiling the fun has been on my eyes every day this week I think.
ReplyDeleteSame! I've been using mine everyday too. The new Pout Paste shades are glorious x
DeleteGreat post Sarah! There certainly were so many good new releases last month! I had the same problem as you with the Biore Charcoal Cleanser! First time I used it was fine, but the next few times the tingling/cooling feeling has been really intense. I might try it another few times but otherwise I'm not sure it's going to work out for me! X

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I was shocked at how intense it was! IT HURT >.<
DeleteSarah, I'm seriously LOVING these posts! You've been doing an amazing job rounding up all the new products! The two new pout paste shades look super pretty, none from the original line stood out to me, so I may have to check the new ones out! Can't wait to try the new + version of effaclar duo, the original is an HG for me. Also the Indeed exfoliator sounds amazing!

Arhhh! Thank you Tasha! I'm so glad you're enjoying them. There is sooooo much work that goes into these but knowing that you're enjoying them means alot.
DeleteWow a ton of amazing new releases! That Dove conditioner sounds perfect for me, as I always need a detangling conditioner with my thick hair. The Arbonne palette is so gorgeous in terms of packaging but I agree, a bit of space was wasted and it could have been less bulky.

It's amazing! I was so surprised with the high quality.
DeleteOh wow what an amazing post. Soo many new releases this month - especially by Australis. I really want to try the pout pastes and covergirl bombshell shineshadows as I have for a while now. The Ardell lashes also sound fab. I can't wait for a review on the Australis' foundation! I've been wondering whether I should pick it up or not. Xxx

THANK YOU! Yes the Australis releases have been great. I'll try to get the foundation review up ASAP x
DeleteThe Dove line will be my next haircare purchase I think... heard lots of good things. I am loving the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly. I think I prefer it to the original serum. Shame you didn't get on with the Biore Charcoal Cleanser. I haven't tried it but I am think with my oily-combo skin it might work.
ReplyDeleteAmazing round up and review. Impressed at how thorough it is and beautifully photographed too.
ReplyDeleteSOO many great releases! I have the Dove Dry Oil set but am yet to try, looking forward to it though! Also love the look of those Biore Strips!
