THIS WEEKS MORE THAN ADORED #6

✎ Saturday, 2 August 2014
Winter is well and truly here in my part of the world so my skin has been hating life. I've been really making sure I exfoliate, moisture, exfoliate, moisture, exfoliate moisture like CRAZY to help with the dry patches I've been experiencing. I mention the Indeed Labs Exfoliator* in yesterday's post but it's been a saviour this week. It's a powder exfoliator you mix with a little water in the shower and it turns into a foam but still have little gritty bits as well. It's a chemical and a manual exfoliator all in one and it's been such a good job at removing dry flakey skin without stripping or irritating my skin. I've been following that up with the Avene Rich Skin Recovery Cream* which is targeted towards those with dry sensitive skin but it's actually been amazing for a night time moisturiser. I've been slathering this on every night and it's really really helping keep my skin moisturised and lovely. These two are definitely a complete dream team!

I know it's winter and nobody has any time for standing around to fake tan but I've had a few events I've needed to attend so I've been trying out the Pure Tan Pure Bronze Instant Tanning Lotion*. I love this tan!!!! It looks super scary in the tube because it's so dark but once it's all done it looks incredible. I actually prefer this lotion over my previous tanning love Bondi Sands so that is saying something. I find the lotion is hydrating, gorgeous in colour and lasts about 6 days then it just fades - no patchiness at all. The only negative I have to say about is that it doesn't set up on the skin very well to start with so you're left feeling slightly tacky whilst it develops BUT you only have to keep it on for an hour so I don't mind.

Because I've been a few shades darker then I usually am I've been able to pull out some of the foundations that don't match my skin so well. The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabolous Foundation is one that I've never been able to use when I'm pale because I find the shades oxidise on me so much but when I'm tan it's fine. The foundation itself is a winner, satin finish, long-lasting and a good medium coverage. On my eyes I've been loving the Maybelline Master Smoky in Black* for lining the tight line and creating a smudgy line look. It's long-lasting and doesn't budge after it's set. On my lips I've been completely head over heels for the gorgeous Mac Diva. It's a stunning deep vampy shade that I've been wearing pretty much every time I wear make up!

What have you been loving this week?

  2. I love how supple skin feels after exfoliating or using a cleansing face mask! I might just get the Master Smoky - a lot of my eyeliners smudge off or fade in colour during the day! x

  4. Some lovely products. That Indeed Labs Exfoliator sounds like the Dermalogica Microexfoliant. I don't think I can pull off lips as dark as Diva but it is a gorgeous shade.

  11. MAC Diva looks gorgeous. I have been very impressed with Indeed Labs products. I like Avene too. These fast developing tan sounds interesting do you leave it on for an hour and wash it off like the New St Tropez one or is it the final colour immediately?
