BUDGET BEAUTY BUYS

✎ Tuesday, 9 September 2014
Say hello to More Than Adored's latest series that will be regularly appearing throughout each month showcasing our favourite budget beauty buys of the moment.

Klorane Shampoo & Conditioner with Mango Butter*
You all know how I harp on about spending more on haircare and how most affordable shampoo and conditioner duos just don't cut it for me BUT these are actually pretty darn good. The major problem I have with affordable haircare is that it doesn't keep my hair as clean for as long and it doesn't detangle my hair properly - these do both of those things. They're hydrating, smell incredible and don't leave any sort of residue behind after rinsing. Definitely a duo to try.

Lee Stafford Poker Straight Flat Iron Shine Mist
Ignore the 'poke straight' claim because it's not going to help your hair magically become straight but this well help protect your locks and make them a little more shiny. A lot of people rave about the Tresemme Heat Protectant which I have been using on and off for the past few years but I prefer this. Why? It's all down to the way it sprays! This one sprays out a fine mist which means it's not going to leave your hair damp whereas the Tresemme one disperses alot of product with each spritz making it impossible (or just really bad for your hair) to go straight over with a hot tool.

Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils - full review
These are the bomb digitty of cream shadows available in the drugstore. I love the texture of these and how, once set, they don't budge throughout the day. They can take a little to warm up when first applying to the eye but apart from that they're really fantastic to use and so affordable coming in at under $10. The colour range is spot on too!

Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Colours
I know I've been raving about this nail polish non-stop this month but seriously it's my new favourite polish. From the wide brush to the opaque formula, this polish has me weak at the knees. This lasted a full week with only minor tip wear on every single nail - incredible! A must-try. Oh and this colour is gorgeous on the nails. I'm going to try to pick up the whole range to do a swatch review for y'all (any excuse to buy more hehe).

Rimmel BB Cream Matte*
I was all ears when this was releasing because the main issue I have with western BB creams is the longevity - to put it simply most suck. This gives you a light/medium finish without being cakey at all and it lasts really well on the skin. The colour 'light' is considerably lighter then other 'light' shades from other brands and as long as I blend down my neck I can get away with it. This does last well however not a full day but still a killer release from Rimmel that I'll continue to repurchase.

L'oreal Super Liner Silkissime
I'm a huge fan of L'oreal liquid eyeliners but I'd never tried any of their kohl liners because for an affordable brand they're a little pricey. When these were released six months ago I was luck enough to receive two to try and it's complete and utter love - I've repurchased the black already and nearly ready to repurchase the brown. This is the only affordable kohl eyeliner that has stayed put all day on me. They're pigmented, smooth to apply and once set they do not budge. I've converted my best friend onto them and she hasn't looked back either. If you're after something that is going to last then these are for you.

Almay Intense Smoky-i for Browns
A little Estee enabled purchase I do not regret one bit. It's not often I fall in love with an eyeshadow trio, let alone one an affordable one, so I really wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this online. Luckily (as usual) Estee did not steer me wrong and this little trio is stunning. The bottom shade is obviously the absolute winner that creates dimension all on it's own and the shadow quality is actually pretty decent for an affordable brand like Almay. I'd definitely been interested in purchasing more in the future.
