WOMF #19 FIRST IMPRESSIONS

✎ Wednesday, 24 September 2014
Usually this series is reserved for showing products I've actually been loving the past week and although there is a fair share of those type of products in this post I thought it'd be fun to throw in some initial thoughts on some products I've just started trying. The first being the John Plunkett Instant Primer* which in is very similar in texture to the Benefit Porefessional, very silicone based and very smoothing. These type of products seem to be very on trend with numerous brands releasing their own version, my fingers are crossed the wear of this is beautiful. I applied the new Australis Mix It Colour Correcting Foundation in Natural Tan* all over and I was so shock on how dark this particular shade is but luckily I have some fake tan left on my skin so blending down my neck did the trick. This initially felt pretty thick on my skin but I did accidentally apply alot so I think I need to master the amount I put on. It really smoothed out the skin well though. I did added a little of the L'oreal Infallible Concealer which is my favourite for blemishes and pigmentations at the moment. I set it with the Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder which I've been using as my setting powder the past two weeks and I'm thoroughly enjoying how it feels my skin feeling silky smooth.

Onto my eyes and I've been playing around with the new Sigma collection thanks to Rouche Boutique (full review on collection coming soon). The Sigma Brilliant & Spellbinding Palette* is all I used on the eyes. I used the shades solstice, healthy all over the lid and then applied a tiny bit of balmy through the crease then deepening it with fey. I really adore the Sigma shadow formulations and this palette is stunning. I then added the Sigma Final Touch Inner Rim Brightener* which is the perfect nude shade for my complexion in the water line and a few coats of the Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara*

For finishing touches I filled in my eyebrows with the Makeup Forever Aqua Brow which has literally changed my eyebrow life. I admit I need to book in to get them cleaned up but this makes filling in my eyebrows a dream. I decided to add a little blush and highlight from Napoleon Perdis Contour Palette*. I was blown away with the pigmentation of these powder products! I then applied the Mary Kay Lipstick Sassy Fuchsia* all over the lips. This was super hard to apply directly from the bullet because of the shape of lipstick so that was a little disappointing. On the lips it is super comfortable and creamy though!

Let me know if you'd like to see a review or more information on any of the products and I'll get working on that :)

  4. I've always wanted to try makeup from Sigma (and buy some more brushes). I have not seen the Australis foundation before, it looks very interesting! Let us know how the primer goes with helping the foundation last and keeping oiliness at bay. And I love the Napoleon Ultimate Contour Palette!

  5. Great post - I really love reading/watching first impressions! The Sigma palette looks so pretty! The primer sounds cool too, let us know how it wears! Does it have any skincare benefits seeing as they're quite a skincare orientated brand?
