CLARINS EXTRA-COMFORT FOUNDATION

✎ Friday, 31 January 2014
26 Comments
Today's review is something new and a little different for More Than Adored. This foundation review has been done in a progressive manner and I hope it's really helpful. It has taken a while to put together so I'd really appreciate your feedback and thoughts! If you'd like to see more of these types of reviews head on over too my Facebook page where I have a list of options for the next review, leave a comment on what you'd like to see next so I know what one to do next :)

Last October Clarins released the Extra-Comfort Foundation* promising the formulation would offer hydration whilst nourishing the skin. The range offers a total of six shades Beige, the shade I have, being the lightest which is extremely limiting and slightly disappointing. The foundation contains soft-focus pigments to help minimise any imperfections, argan oil and plant micro-patch technology to help control any shine whilst moisturising drier parts of the face. I aboustely adore the packaging of this foundation, the frosted weighted jar looks gorgeous on my vanity. I don't even care that it's not practical for travelling, it's beautiful
As you can see I have a fair bit of discolouration in my skin along with hyper pigmentation. After one layer my skin looked flawless so I have to agree with the medium-high coverage claim. This photo was taken immediately after application of the foundation only. I really love the way it blurred any scarring and discolouration but it doesn't look cakey. The finish is slightly dewy and radiant which is lovely.
Now I decided to go ahead and do the rest of my make up as normal which meant I have set the foundation in place with a powder. I know not everyone does this step but for me I can't get away with going a full day without setting my foundation. Even after the powder being applied the foundation looks gorgeous. It's higher coverage compared to what I wear everyday but I really really love it.
After 4 hours of wear I did experience a bit of shine through my T-Zone which is completely normal for my skin with any foundation and usually I don't bother touching up. I was surprised to find as the foundation wore throughout these hours it still felt really comfortable and not cakey at all on the skin. I actually like how my skin looks at this stage, I still have the coverage but now with a bit of natural shine which I don't mind. My blush and bronzer haven't faded or broken apart either.
After 8 hours of wear I was dying to touch up because I felt really oily. It wasn't until about the 7 hour mark where I felt as though I needed to blot and powder otherwise the foundation felt really great on my skin. As you can see I'm fairly shiny and although my blush/bronzer are still on the foundation has broken apart around my nose and chin. After taking these photos I did go ahead and touch up and the foundation did well with blotting and applying a powder over top.

Overall
I do love the medium-high coverage this foundation offers and the finish is gorgeous whether you're setting it with powder or not. This type of foundation is something I would reserve for special occasions because of the high coverage, it'd be perfect for when you want flawless airbrushed skin. Given that I did this trial on a 40 degree day, I think in the winter this foundation would work well for me but my skin didn't cope well with the formulation as the day went on.

I think if you have dry or normal skin this foundation would be a fantastic investment to make it, it really is a gorgeous foundation. For really oily girls this wouldn't be worth the hefty price tag as I think the formulation would be too much for your skin. If you have combination skin, like me, I would suggest getting a sample from a counter before investing just to see how your skin goes with the wear. I will be saving this for the cooler months but I probably wouldn't buy it. I will definitely be looking to invest in other Clarins foundations though because the quality of this product has really impressed me.

JANUARY FAVOURITES 2014

✎ Thursday, 30 January 2014
11 Comments
I cannot believe it's time for my January favourites already! This month I really kept my skincare and make up minimal because of the ridiculous heat waves we've been experiencing but I did rediscover some old products as well as enjoy a few new ones too.

Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser
As a mentioned we have been experiencing heat waves over the past few weeks so my skin has been going mental. This is a clay based cleanser marketed towards combination/oily skin types and I found this incredible to use on those horrible sticky days were your skin feels like a layer of residue has built up, you know what I'm talking about. It cleanses well and leaves the skin refreshed with a methanol feel to it. I only used this every second night because it is quite clarifying but I'm in love with it and will be purchasing the full size in the future.

L'oreal Liss Unlimited Double Serum*
When I received this product I was a little unsure on how to use it. I was excited because I have frequent issues with frizz due to always air-drying my hair. I decided to just give it a whirl after sleeping with my hair in a bun and letting it down to style, essentially it was a hot mess. I use about two-three pumps through the mid-lengths and it tamed the frizz instantly! It doesn't leave any residue or make my hair look oily so it's a winner.

Puretopia Pure Nutrition Essential Facial Serum*
This month I stripped my skincare right back because of the heat and not wanting to overload my skin. This is one of those products that is easy to use but still is really effective so I pulled it back out of my stash. I simply swipe this all over my face and by the time I'm ready to moisturise it's already absorb. This is a great one if you don't like the feeling of oils on the skin but still want the benefits.

The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel
I couldn't leave this out but I don't have much to say about it. The Satsuma range came back this year as a limited edition thing over the Christmas period. I picked up a set for myself and I love the shower gel so much. It's light, fresh and invigorating.

Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation*
I know I said that I have stripped my make up right back and I have but for work I've been wanting a bit more coverage so this has come back out of my stash. I've spoken about this before so I won't go on about it but if you have oily skin I think that you should try this out! It's a thicker foundation that can be a bit tricky to blend but the coverage and staying power is incredible - perfect for summer.

Cancer Council Moisturising Lip Gloss*
As it's summer all the sunscreen press releases have flowed in and this product caught my eye when Cancer Council sent through a few items. This is a moisturising lip gloss with SPF 30+ so I was keen to see how it performed. I wore this on Australia Day and it's amazing! The product isn't sticky at all and it just feels like a moisturising balm on the lips, smells like vanilla and didn't dry out my lips. A great product to pick up if you're going away on holiday or spend alot of time outdoors.

Eles Mineral Sheer Bronzer in Rio De Janeiro*
I'm going to be doing a few posts featuring this soon however I had to mention it! Eles has quickly become one of my favourite brands and their summer releases are on point. This bronzer is extremely similar to NARS Laguna but I find it's easier to work with and blend. I'll be doing a comparison post on them too in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for that.

Essence Silky Touch Blush 10 Adorable
There isn't anything special about the shade of this blush but the staying power is incredible! This blush has blown me away at how it looks after a 8 hour day in 40 degree heat. It looks like it has just been applied! Essence is a really affordable brand so if you haven't tried their blushes I highly recommend you do because they're a steal!

Sigma Warm Neutrals Palette
I picked this up at the start of the month and I've only used this for the whole month. It comes with every shade you need, a variety of finishes and the quality is really great. This is my first Sigma palette and I'm really impressed by the shadows! This was limited edition but I know Rouche Boutique will have more available at the end of the month.

What have you been loving this month?

SIMPLE SUMMER LOOK WITH MINERALOGIE

✎ Wednesday, 29 January 2014
28 Comments
Mineralogie recently launched some pretty ace products for the summer, an incredible bright lipstick and bronzer to match. For summer I like to keep thing pretty minimal even for events because I don't like feeling as though I'm melting all night. I still like to keep my base flawless so I opt for the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation because it feels like nothing on the skin but still gives a flawless finish. I tend to also leave off any blush and keep my cheeks simple the Mineralogie Pressed Mineral Bronzer in Barcelona Bronze* is perfect for warming up the complexion subtly.

I am in love with the Lux Creme Eye Shadow in Rose Quartz* which I've spoken about before. The colour is perfect for summer and is applied with only a swipe, love that! I love adding a bit of bronzer through the crease in conjunction with the shadow stick, it creates the ultimate warm eye look. Lately I've been wearing liquid eyeliner more which I've been surprisingly enjoying. The L'oreal Super Liner Blockbuster* makes creating a wing completely fool proof, simply turn it on a slight angle and the thick point does all the work for you.

A bright lip is an essential in the summer and this particular shade is 'Bombshell' is a gorgeous blue based fuchsia appropriate for any summer occasion. It has a gorgeous sheen to it which I normally wouldn't go for but I think it adds more dimension to the lips.
I highly recommend checking out Mineralogie if you haven't already. The products are of high standard and I'm really in love with both the bronzer and lipstick they've brought out. The shadow stick has been a complete love since reviewing it a couple of months ago and overall the brand continues to impress me with their new launches.

NEW IN: DIRTY WORKS BODY CARE

✎ Tuesday, 28 January 2014
16 Comments
Whilst picking up your essentials at the local supermarket you may have already stumbled across this new Dirty Works line of body care exclusive to Coles. These products are very reminiscent of Soap and Glory packaging so alot of people have been curious because they're a fraction of the price. The Supreme Cream Body Butter is perfect for slathering all over the body just before bed. It has a super light whipped consistency which means it absorbs into the skin really quickly and the scent is heavenly! This is easily my favourite product from the line. If you're after a scrub I've narrowed it down to these two from the range, Glow Girl! Buttery Salt Scrub offers a light exfoliate that leaves a slight moisturising film after rinsing, perfect if you're rushing and don't have time to moisturise after. The Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub offers something a bit more gritty and exfoliating which is perfect for removing tanning products. The scent is similar to the body cream so I'm a big fan.

This is only a snippet of the range, Dirty Works also offers a Coconut range which I wasn't a fan of because I found the scent a bit fake and also a few other body products like a shimmer lotion I'm yet to try. Although the packaging is reminiscent of Soap and Glory I wouldn't say the products are comparable but for budget friendly, lovely scented products I would recommend you trying Dirty Works!

HOW TO USE A CLEANSING OIL

✎ Monday, 27 January 2014
12 Comments
Cleansing oils are the latest and greatest method of make up removal to blow up in the beauty community. For the everyday woman rubbing an oil onto your face may feel a little strange, I know it took me some getting used too! So I've put together a little step by step on how to use the incredible wonders so if you're wanting to give them a go you aren't left feeling so lost. The two above by Sanctuary Spa Ultimate Facial Cleansing Oil and the Clarins Total Cleansing Oil* are two of my favourites. The Clarins is a thinner consistency which I find goes further however both are fantastic.

Step 1: Pump a single pump into your fingers and rub your hands together to evenly distribute the product.

Step 2: Start working the product directly onto your face, no need to add any water. The beauty of cleansing oils is they don't require any water. I generally like to use circular motions on my cheeks and forehead then work around the face to ensure all my foundation is broke up first.

Step 3: Depending on if you're wearing heavy make up, take another half a pump and repeat to the eye area. If you're not wearing heavy eye make up then you can just use what's left on your fingers from step 2. Gently rub at your eyelashes, the oil will do the rest of the work.

Step 4: Add a little water and keep working the oil around the skin, going over areas you may have missed to ensure all the make up is broken up.

Step 5: By now you'll look scary with your make up smeared everywhere (it's hilarious) now it's time to remove it all. I generally like to jump straight into the shower to rinse but using a damp muslin cloth works just as well.

Step 6: With oils you are left with a bit of a residue so I suggest moving straight onto cleansing and the rest of your routine.

I hope this guide helps some of you wanting to take the plunge but a little unsure. I know the sensation is weird at first and it takes some getting used too however I can't imagine going back to facial wipes to remove my make up because oils are just so much more effective and gentle. If you're worried about having combo/oily skin and using an oil, don't be! I have combo/oily skin and I've never had any problems at all - I cannot recommend a cleansing oil enough!

Have you made the switch to cleansing oils?

FORMULA 10.0.6 ABSOLUTE DREAM CLEAN

✎ Friday, 24 January 2014
11 Comments
You all know me - I love skincare so when I was given the chance to try out the latest addition to the Formula 10.0.6 range I was really excited. Formula 10.0.6 is one of my favourite affordable skincare brands and this new release has rekindled my love for the brand.

Absolute Dream Clean is designed to deeply cleanse the skin, remove any make up, oil or impurities and help combat breakouts. The two main ingredients are Cucumber and Grape Seed Oil which both have a long list of skin benefits but some include; reducing oils, refining pores, leaving the skin smooth and radiant. You get the idea it's good for your skin!

I took this away with me over the Christmas break and for me, that's ballsy! I usually rely heavily on my 'tried and trusted' products whilst travelling but I took the plunge only packing this in hope that it would suffice. The texture of the product is a pearlescent cream that did put me off at first however once worked into the skin it foams up and cleanses well. This does leave a little bit of a powdery feel to the skin, it's not uncomfortable, stripped or tight but it is unique to this product. That doesn't put me off because I always tone after cleansing but it is worth noting if you're funny about product residues.

My favourite thing about the product is the glorious fresh scent, it's divine and incredibly relaxing after a long day. Admittedly I have a soft spot for anything cucumber scented so this had me from the moment I sniffed it but I think everyone enjoys something super refreshing, right? This has firmly taken it's place as my night time cleanser for now and I would recommend it if you're looking for a cheap and cheerful cleanser. I think it ticks all the boxes and I'm looking at trying the toners from Formula 10.0.6 next!

What's your favourite cheap and cheerful skincare product?

TOP 5: STYLING PRODUCTS

✎ Thursday, 23 January 2014
3 Comments
When I posted my haircare routine I asked if anyone was interested in seeing some of my favourite styling products that I use regularly. I have to put a little disclaimer on this post that generally I only ever air-dry my hair. When I tell people this I usually get a funny look but I am trying to grow my hair so I only pull out the hot tools for special occasions. The styling products I'm talking about today are the ones I use when air-drying not when heat styling.
David Babaii Boho Beach Spray
This is probably the most used product in this post because I heavily rely on this to define my natural waves and add texture. I don't use this everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week or if my hair needs a pick me up. Beach sprays work really well for me and I think it's the reason I can not use heat because it gives me that messy, wavy look that I love. I tend to use this on dry hair because I find that it works best that way however I have used it on damp hair and liked how there wasn't so much texture throughout the hair but more curl definition. I'd highly recommend a beach spray for added texture or if you have any natural sort of waves/curls you want defined.

Schwarzkopf Dry Mist Oil
This is new to my routine but I'm thoroughly enjoying it! This is essentially oil that sprays out as a fine mist and helps with shine and frizz. I wash my hair every 2-3 days and I also sleep with my hair up. I find when I wake up and let down my hair it's super frizzy and not cute. I spray this through just the ends, brush through my hair and I'm left with less frizz. It just saves me having to worry about taming frizz with a regular oil.

Paul Mitchell Dry Wash
Another fantastic addition to the Paul Mitchell line! This dry shampoo is so close to taking the place of my Klorane one because it's so different to other dry shampoos. This doesn't spray out spray out too powdery so it's easy to control the amount you are applying and saves you spraying on too much then having to work it all in. If you're having trouble with dry shampoos leaving a white cast then I'd recommend this because you do have extra control. I use this every second day to keep my hair feeling fresh!

Toni & Guy Smoothing Lotion
This is one of those products I would have never thought I needed until I tried it. This is a cream product I apply to the mid-lengths and ends when my hair is still dry. This helps control frizz and enhance shine but I find this speeds up my hair drying time too which I love! I generally make sure I use this every time I wash my hair so it doesn't look static and frizzy.

Paul Mitchell Spray Wax
I don't use this on a daily basis but when I want alot of texture to do a particular style or even a bit more hold throughout my hair I reach for this. This product won't be everyone's cup of tea because it leaves alot of texture and grit to the hair but I find it especially good to use on freshly washed hair. I only use this on dry hair when I know what style I'm going to be doing so that I'm not putting extra texture in that's unneeded.

What are your favourite styling products?

SUMMER SWITCH: MAKE UP

✎ Wednesday, 22 January 2014
13 Comments
I didn't think my make up changed that much in accordance to the season but I've found that I've become a complete minimalist this summer. I've stripped back my make up routine completely so I thought I'd some gems that have been keeping my make up quite natural and fuss free.

BASE
I'm guilty of not wearing any base at all when it's hot but if I am braving a base and then I am constantly reaching for the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser. This provides a very generous amount of coverage for a tinted moisturiser and leaves such a gorgeous look to the skin. I like how it still lets your natural skin texture peep through. If I'm out all day I'll powder but I do fancy not applying powder because the finish is so beautiful.

CHEEKS
An obvious switch for the summer time is a bronzer and my favourite has to be the ELES Rio De Janeiro Bronzer*. I normally just sweep this around my cheeks and forehead to warm up my skin, this is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. I usually team a bronzer with a highlighter along the cheek bones and this Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora compliments the bronzer well. If I'm not feeling the bronzed/glowy look I dust a little of the Essence Silky Touch blush in Adorable across my cheeks. The staying power of this blush is incredible so worth picking up for the low price.

EYES
I haven't been applying eyeshadow because I just haven't been feeling it. Instead I've been taking the L'oreal Super Liner in Brown Temptation* along my lower lash line and if I'm feeling fancy the top lashes too. I then load up with mascara and call it a day. Unfortunately I was testing a new mascara in the photo below and it didn't work out.. Stay tuned for that post.

LIPS
Out are the red hues and in are the orange and corals in a big way. For work I've been slicking my lips either the Maybelline Coral Crush lipstick or the Shanghai Suzy Mis Jade Orange for a pigmented put-together look. For day to day my trick is to work either of the colours into the lips for a slight wash of that particular hue in a more casual way. Genius.

What's your go-to look for summer?

A GUIDE TO SPF 50+

✎ Tuesday, 21 January 2014
13 Comments
For those of you unaware 50+ SPF was non-existant on the Australian market up until a couple of months ago where every brand started releasing the high factor protection. Finally. I was delighted to see almost every brand that makes sunscreens release new additions to their line with the high protection. I'm going to talk you through some of my favourite body and facial SPFs as a bit of a guide if you're in the market for a new sunscreen.
BODY
I've tried to include a range of different types of applicators because I know that some people are fussy when it comes to their choice of sun protection. Le Tan's Coconut Lotion SPF 50+ is a traditional cream formula that you dispense into your hand then apply. This is my personal favourite of the cream formula because it doesn't have the typical sunscreen scent. This absorbs quickly and the scent lingers which I love! I wouldn't put this on my face because of the strong scent but because I use a separate facial SPF that's not an issue for me. If you're after something quick and easy the Banana Boat Sport SPF 50+ is a fantastic option. It sprays on clear and doesn't require rubbing in at all. It doesn't feel to thick or greasy on the skin which is a characteristic I really love about this product. Now I know some people like to ensure they've slathered their bodies and can feel the product their so they know their being protected. The Cancer Council Sport Sunscreen SPF 50+ is a great option if you're one of those people. This is a cream formula with a spray dispenser but the product feels and smells like a traditional sunscreen which I know some people do prefer.
FACE
If you're after a bit of coverage La Roche-Posay Uvidea XL has taken the cake for a high SPF BB cream. It's light, blends well and feels really great on the skin. If I opt for this then I do set with a powder so I don't lose that coverage throughout the day but it's fantastic and light. A great one for underneath make up is the Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunscreen which has been very hyped in the UK beauty community and for good reason. This is the perfect base for make up as it doesn't interrupt anything you do application wise afterwards but still provides you with extra protection. Lastly, if you have sensitive skin Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturiser is extremely gentle on the skin. It's hypo-allergenic and fragrance free, also a great base to your make up.

Extra Tips:
-make sure the product is UVA and UVB protection (broad spectrum) this is vital to ensure you're protected from both ray types
-alcohol level is something to consider if you have dry skin, most sunscreen contain high levels so compare whilst browsing the aisles
-look out for a white cast, particularly when buying facial SPFs! Try it on the back of your hand in the shop to ensure you don't get a nasty white cast
-spend extra on a facial SPF they are specially formulated for the face so it lessens the chance of it causing you to break out or be super greasy

BELLABOX JANUARY 2014

✎ Monday, 20 January 2014
23 Comments
If you remember last months Bellabox I wasn't impressed with a few things about the box. One being that there was a huge variation in shipping times with everyone's boxes. Again this month I received my box a whole week (7 working days) after some other people. Although Bellabox promised via twitter they had a resolution to this in the works, I'm yet to see it.
Avene Soothing Moisture Mask 50mL RRP $41.95
As I always say when receiving Avene samples, I feel like I've tried the whole line because of sample subscriptions. I actually couldn't believe I received another one of their products but regardless this isn't suitable for my skin type but I will keep it and use it if I ever have a reaction or sunburn.

Scandalous Rock Chick Wave Spray 150mL RRP $17.95 (fullsize)
This is probably the best item in my box and I'm happy to have received it. Essentially this is a wave spray that'll help enhance any curls giving you that 'tousled' look. I use a wave spray of some kind everyday so I will happily try this.
Vaseline Aloe Fresh Daily Body Lotion 200mL RRP $7.68
Although I will use this I find it a bit annoying to get a sample of a lotion that the fullsize product has the value of less then $10... But I do like Vaseline body lotions so this will get used.

Avene Hydrance Optimale Rich Hydrating Cream 40mL RRP $52.95
Again not suitable for my skin type and I definitely won't be using this in the middle of summer because it'll make my skin even more oily.
Model Co Fat Lash Volumising Mascara 11mL RRP $20 (fullsize)
Bellabox did a sneak peak email this month so I knew this was coming and I'm not one bit impressed. I hate Model Co as a brand I don't like any of their products and I think overall the brand is tacky and cheap. It is good to see a full size make up product included in a box however I wish that Bellabox would stop including Model Co products!

Inm Natural Nail File RRP $1.75 (fullsize)
I actually laughed when I seen this was included as a product in my box. What. A. Joke. It's a cheap nail file!! I cannot believe this was counted as one of my products. I could understand if it was the bonus product for the month but not as one of my 5 items.

Bonus - Banana Boat Everyday SPF 30+ RRP $21
I really like Banana Boat SPFs so I'm sure this will get used at some point. A great size sachet too.

Overall I'm extremely disappointed in this months Bellabox. I hate how Model Co and Avene are in every subscription box especially when I'm not a fan of any of the products I've tried from either brand. I'm just generally annoyed at the box: Avene, Model Co and a nail file? Come on! The only product I'm happy about receiving is the Wave Spray because I will get use out of it and it's a brand I'm unfamiliar too, the rest of the box is rubbish. I've seen another variation over on Kat's blog (see here) which was different and I honestly would've preferred. I will be unsubscribing!

What do you think of this box?

L'OREAL NUDE MAGIQUE CC CREAMS

✎ Thursday, 16 January 2014
18 Comments
When I caught wind of L'oreal releasing new Nude Magique CC creams I was really excited because I aboustely love the original Nude Magique BB cream and that was my go-to base for a long time. These CC creams all promise that they are a 5-in-1 perfecting cream that will:
-achieve flawless coverage
-perfectly even skin texture
-have a fresh dewy glow
-24hr hydration
-SPF 12
I think that they do convert with those claims however keeping in mind these are a light coverage product so you're not going to have perfect skin when using these but I kind of like that look on an everyday basis. These all have the smart pigment capsules which is fancy for, the cream comes out one colour and as you blend it into the skin it adjusts into a foundation type product, achieving 'the perfect nude look'.
The new Nude Magique CC cream line come in three different variations; anti-redness, anti-dullness and anti-fatigue all of which have their own unique coloured formulation to help cancel out those skin issues. For example the anti-redness is green to help counter-act the redness in the skin. Essentially this means you need to use less of the product to achieve an even skin tone if you're using the one tailored to your skin problem.
*I only swiped these slightly, as you continue to blend they match to your skin tone
As you can see when you start to blend out the product they all gradually become a skin tone shade because of the smart pigment capsules. I personally didn't find the anti-redness benefited my skin as it's not one of my skin issues however I did really enjoy the other two, particularly the anti-dullness, for alone use as well as underneath foundations. I actually got a compliment on my skin whilst working the other day and all I was wearing was the anti-dullness topped with a little bit of powder which I was pretty chuffed about. I do set these with a powder because I get oily throughout the day but I find that I can go a full working day with one touch up and it holds up well on my skin. Also I make sure to use a translucent powder so it doesn't take away from the pretty glowy finish.

I do think with these products you need to be mindful if you're pale because they are only universal shades which is a shame. I've been fake tanning alot lately I don't have a problem with the shades not matching but as my tan fades I do need to ensure I'm taking the product down my neck. It would've been great to see a shade selection like the BB cream has from the Nude Magique line.

Overall I do think these are a great light base especially for the summertime. I find they even out my skin tone enough that I can wear them alone and still be happy with how my skin looks which is something I never thought I'd say because I've always been a full coverage gal. As I said, if you are pale do swatch them in store because they maybe too dark for you but other than that I'm really happy with these and think they're a great extension to add to the 'Nude Magique' line.

What's your favourite light base product?

AUSTRALIS TINT MY BROW

✎ Wednesday, 15 January 2014
28 Comments
Affordable brow products that are of high quality are something that are really hard to come by. I think the more 'drugstore' brands are slowly catching onto the high demand for brow products at low prices as we've seen releases from Maybelline, Models Prefer and now Australis. Australis is the first 'drugstore' brand that I've seen do a tinted brow gel and the release came relatively close the the Benefit 'Gimme Brow' so it was seen as the cheaper alternative in the beauty community.

Australis promises a lightweight formulation that won't make your eyebrows look overdone but instead tint, define and control the brows. The brush applicator is described as easy-to-use and overall it does sound like a promising product - they had me sold.
I received the shade 'blonde' which is the lightest of the three shades available in the range. First off I knew the colour would be slightly too warm for my eyebrows as I opt for more of an ashy tone. That didn't deter me and I went on with applying and trying out the product. First off my brows aren't overly thin, I would like to think that they're quite natural of shape and thickness but I found the brush was far to wide and thick making it difficult for precise application. I pushed on attempting not to smear the product outside my brows but it was a hot mess.
The packaging also made it incredibly hard to control the amount of product dispensed onto the brush meaning that you got a thick coat on that brush and your eyebrows look dramatic and bold. I did try dipping a small disposable macara wand into the tube and the smaller brush made it so much easier to apply the product exactly where you wanted it but obviously if you're buying a product you don't want to have to buy disposable mascara wands just to be able to use it!

I think Australis are heading in the right direction with this new release. I certainly take my hats off to them for releasing an innovative brow product at such a low price however a smaller brush and better packaging is needed for optimal use of the product. I've seen some reviews of people singing this product all the praises but I wouldn't personally recommend it as I find it too fiddly and messy.

NUXE VOYAGE TRAVEL KIT

Nuxe is a brand I've always wanted to try but didn't want to buy a full size product and be disappointed. When I came across with fantastic travel kit for only $20 I couldn't pass it up considering it has a wide range of products to try. For those of you who are unaware, Nuxe is now available in Priceline stores meaning it is so much more accessible so it was a perfect time to 'try before I buy'.
The set contains five deluxe samples or 'travel' size products. The downside to this kit is that two of them, the shower gel and micellar solution, are not available for individual sale in Australia. This initially annoyed me but now I don't mind so much because I enjoyed using them while I had them and hopefully in the future they make their way onto our shelves.

Micellar Cleansing Water: I'm really disappointed that this isn't available in Australia because it's beautiful. It smells of roses and is just as effective at removing make up as Bioderma. If it was available here I would purchase it over Bioderma.

Anti-fatigue Moisturising Cream: this didn't 'wow' me but it is a lovely hydrating moisturiser that doesn't leave a film over the skin and is extremely gentle. I will use it up but it's not something I'm blown away by.

Multi-usage Dry Oil: the main reason I purchased the kit was to try this product because it's one of those things I've always nearly bought. It's a really thin consistency that isn't greasy at all and being a dry oil it absorbs instantly into the skin. I've mainly been using this on my body and hair but I think it would work well on the face especially during the day. All the hype surrounding this product is completely worth it.

Hand and Nail Cream: I've mentioned this before on my blog because it's divine. It has a really lovely floral scent that isn't overpowering but it's present enough for me to want to continually apply this throughout the day. It absorbs quickly into the hands making it perfect for on the go use. This is a hand cream I would repurchase.

Fondant Shower Gel: this shower gel is 'almond and orange flower petals' scented which honestly, is amazing. Despite this being a soap free shower gel it still did lather nicely and left my skin feeling super soft. Unfortunately this is the other product not available on the Australian market but if it was I would consider repurchasing.

This kit is fantastic value and I really enjoyed trying the five products out. Considering the low price point it is worth picking up if you're unsure if you're going to like the oil or the moisturiser. Even though two of the products are not available for me to repurchase I wouldn't change buying this kit because I loved using everything in it. I would even purchase again if I was travelling because the size is great for a week away.

TRASH TALK #12

Every month I think my empties post will be smaller but I seem to finish up alot of things all at once! This month I finished up a huge chunk of my skincare routine which was sad because I was really enjoying what I had going on but I'm excited to reach into my stash and pull out something else in replacement.
Sanctuary Spa Deep Cleanse Facial Exfoliating Pore Refiner*
This is a product I never thought I'd enjoy because it's not very 'scrubby' but I actually loved it. It's a very gentle and fine exfoliator but I found it really did the job at unclogging pores and helping clear any blackheads. It says to use it every second night but I used it every night and didn't have any issues at all however I do have large pores and blackheads so start off with every second night.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Couleur Caramel Tonic Lotion
This is an all natural toner that I really did like for purifying the skin and balancing out my oils but I found it left a tacky residue behind that was fine in the evening however for the morning it was inconvenient. I did like it but not enough for me to repurchase.
Would I repurchase? No.

Arbonne Night Repair Creme* (full review)
It was a sad sad day when I finished this bad boy up. This is an incredibly luxurious product I was lucky enough to trial and review. The cream is thick, rich and so hydrating. It feels super pampering and gorgeous, it doesn't leave any residue or film on the skin at all. Overall an incredible product I wish I had the funds to repurchase for life.
Would I repurchase? If only my university budget would allow.

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream (full review)
This is my best friend in the summer time because it moisturisers my skin without leaving any residue behind and really helps keep my skin matte during the day. I cannot recommend this enough for anyone who has oily skin and is looking for a lovely day cream.
Would I repurchase? Yes in the future, I'm trying to use up some other products at the moment.
Bioderma Sebium H20
I've been on both sides of the Bioderma love and haters all whilst using this bottle until I finished and didn't have it. This is the formulation for oily skin and it's so handy to have on days where you just want to quickly get your make up off your face easily without any fuss. This also is great for days where you need a quick cleanse in the morning, swipe this over the face and you're good to go. I wish it wasn't so expensive in Australia because I feel it's a staple for me now.
Would I repurchase? Yes!

The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash
I'm not even going to. I love this. It's amazing. This is my 5th bottle. If you have oily/combo skin try it.
Would I repurchase? Forever.

Natio Clay and Plant Face Mask Purifier
This mask isn't empty but I bought it probably about four years ago so I just don't want to put it on my face. This was a great clay mask for when you're breaking out and feel really congested. I did like the results but I did love the consistency, I felt like it wasn't thick enough.
Would I repurchase? No.

Karpati Pore Refining Clay Mask (full review
This has quickly made it to holy grail status and I cannot wait to get through all my other masks so I can buy this. This is an all natural clay based mask that is incredible for absorbing oils, reducing inflammation and decongesting the skin. It's gentle but effective.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Aveda Purifying Gel Cleanser
This was a sample from a Bellabox or LHI and I literally got one and a bit uses out of it so I don't feel like I got a chance to properly see if I liked it. It was really watery and I felt like I need alot to properly clean my face.
Would I repurchase? No.
Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Eyeliner
This is my favourite liquid liner because of the finish. It leaves a subtle gloss to the liner which I really like. The tip is really small so it's easy to use and it's also really easy to remove because it comes off in chunks (does that make sense?). I will probably only repurchase this because I'm completely happy with it and don't feel the need to stray from it. The only annoying thing about it is that the brush tip actually frayed before the formulation went bad.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Burt's Bees Rose Tinted Lip Balm
This is a lip balm that has gone through the wash one to many times and needs to go. I did really love the tint this gave to the lips and the formulation was moisturising. Burt's Bees lip products are among some of my favourites for moisture.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Australis Matte Out Mattifying Face Base*
A fantastic alternative to a liquid facial primer this offered a quick fix for mattifying the skin. The stick form made application super easy and overall I really enjoyed using this in my routine.
Would I repurchase? Already have.
Garnier Mineral Ultra Dry Deodorant
A deodorant I had lying around before I found the Rexona Clinical Protection line. This smelt really good but I found it did nothing in terms of keeping me dry so I wouldn't recommend this. I did like it on days I wasn't doing much because the Rexona is so hardcore it was nice to have a break from it.
Would I repurchase? No.

Listerine Zero Mouthwash
Another staple toiletry for me. I don't like Listerine in general so this one is really great if you don't like the taste and sensation because it's not as strong but still does a great job!
Would I repurchase? Already have.

Nuxe Body Shower Gel
I have a review going up on a travel set from Nuxe I recently purchased and this is one of the products included. It's a beautiful scent and foams up well which are the two qualities I look for in a body wash. I'm unsure if this is available in Australia or how expensive it is but I'd definitely use it again.
Would I repurchase? Depending on the price - maybe.

Wotnot Facial Wipes
These are one of the only facial wipes I actually use for removing make up. This was a little five pack that I took away with me a couple of times. I really like this because they are good for your skin, they have rosehip oil and other skincare goodies infused in the wipes.
Would I repurchase? Already have.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
