NEW IN: OCTOBER

There have been a ridiculous amount of beauty launches this month from both affordable and high end brands. Grab a cup of tea because it’s going to be a long one!

We’ll start of with make up because I know that’s what you’re all most excited to hear about. From Rimmel there is now two foundations available, one being the Lasting Finish with Comfort Serum and the other being the Lasting Finish. I haven’t tested these two out enough to tell you my thoughts fully but the colour Ivory suits me well. I’m going to be starting up my foundation reviews again so look out for these being featured soon. The Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide is just another incredible addition to the bases Laura Mercier have to offer. Not only does this make your skin look completely airbrushed, it lasts all day! I would be wary if you have dry skin as it does cling to dry patches but overall I highly recommend it especially for oily/combination girls! Boe Professional have released some base products and the Finishing Powder is pretty amazing at smoothing the skin and setting everything in place, especially for the price.

I think all beauty lovers can appreciate an affordable eyeliner sharper and Essence have released their own version that will fit small and larger pencils so it’s worth picking up! The Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara is another cheap and cheerful product that’ll give you decent volume and definition. This can flake on me but for a mascara that’s under $10 I don’t expect it to be a perfect product. You’ve all heard me rave about the Essence blushes in the past and the newest shade Autumn Peach is just a gorgeous darker peach - I don’t think you can go wrong with their blushes. If you follow me over on Instagram you’ll know that I was so excited for the L’oreal Brow Artist Plumper to be available in store. It’s the smallest brush I’ve seen on a brow product in the pharmacy and it delivers with the formulations. Light/medium is a good match for blondes, it does look too warm when first applied but once set it’s stunning - a must buy. L’oreal has also released the Color Riche L’ombre Pure Mattes and they are hands down the best affordable eyeshadows I’ve personally ever used.

L’oreal have been on a serious roll because they also released the ‘The Whites’ which is a limited edition line. I’ve always loved these polishes in terms of formulation and the white based shades give you a really bright pastel so they’re worth checking out. Essence has also added some new shades to their Colour & Go line, this one being Juicy Love. Although they don’t last amazingly on the nails it’s a fantastic brand to check out if you’re wanting to try some new shades on a budget.

My favourite releases this month has to be some of the products, of course! Maxfactor have released the Color Elixir that I’ve been aboustely loving, the colour range is on point and they’re super comfortable to wear. The Glam Mattes from L’oreal is one of those products that’s caused havoc in the beauty community because of the name however I can really understand why they’ve called it a matte lipgloss - full post coming next but they’re ace products. Burts Bees have released a line of Lip Crayons to compliment the extensive range of lip products already on offer and they’re that perfect comfortable yet pigmented colour that’d you would expect when buying a lip crayon. A range I hadn’t tried before is the Essence Long-Lasting Matte line and I’m so impressed with the formulation and pigmentation of number 14, so much so I’m tempted to go buy the whole line. A fantastic budget lip colour. Mary Kay have also released a Spring collection with two new Creamy Lip Colors and one Lip Gel. All are beautiful however a full post will be up next week so keep an eye out for that collection. The last and probably my most used new release comes from Jurlique with their Hydra-Glosses, I spoke about them earlier this week but a stunning duo that I would recommend.

For body you’ll find the Palmer’s Rapid Moisture Spray Lotions now on the shelves. These aren’t super hydrating but they require little working into the skin, smooth out any rough patches and the application is a bit of fun. Jurlique have released a Sunless Tanner and After Sun Replenishing Moisturising Lotion and I adore both. I think that the tan is super easy to use, gives a gorgeous colour and is really fuss free. Whilst we’re talking about tanning creams the Instant Tanning Cream Wash Off from JBronze is an incredible product. You all know I’ve a huge fan of wash-off tanners and this is the best I’ve tried in terms of giving you an even colour quickly. *the Jbronze isn’t out yet sorry!

Impulse have completely rebranded and I just adore the new look! The compact size is perfect for the gym bag or just to carry around during the day. My favourite scent is Merely Musk. Rubi Shoes have launched a new beauty line and the little scent rollerball is actually really lovely! It doesn’t last on the skin which I do expect however I appreciate the affordability and compactness of the product.

I’ve fallen in love with a few new hair releases. I aboustely love the Fudge Raise The Roots for giving my hair some serious volume. The application is a dream with amazing applicator and it does exactly what it claims to do. Another clear favourite is the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil which you’re probably sick of me talking about but it’s an incredible budget oil and the best part is that it comes in a glass bottle! $20 for killer packaging? I’m there. Some new products to me from Catwalk by Tigi are the Camera Ready, Bodyifying Spray and Hairista Cream. I enjoy them all but keep an eye out for a hair step-by-step involving these. Another new hair treatment is the Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me.Masque. If you have dry or damaged hair this is the hair treatment for you. It leaves your hair feeling nourished, soft and you don’t have any frizzy dry bits at all!

Jurlique have been leading the launches particularly with skincare this month. They’ve released three new cleansers. The first is the Clarifying Deep Cleansing Gel which has exfoliating beads throughout. It’s super gentle, still deep cleans the skin and would be perfect for anyone who feels like they have to exfoliate daily but they want something gentle. The other cleanser I was lucky to try from the line is the nourishing cleansing oil. You all know me I just love a cleansing oil and this is another fantastic one. It removes make up amazingly and feels super hydrating and glorious on the skin. Along with the tanning and aftersun Jurlique also have bought out a SPF 40 Protection Cream. If you’re struggling to find a good quality SPF for your face that won’t disturb your make up then I highly suggest trying this. It’s super gentle and not heavy at all. The last skincare item I wanted to mention is the Sisley Rose Precious Face Oil. This is probably the most expensive skincare item I’ve ever tried and I can definitely see why it’s so expensive. It’s aboustely heavenly! It’s rich, hydrating, plumping and you literally have a glow the day after you use it. Would I fork out $250 to buy it again? Probably not because it’s not relative to my disposable income however if it was… I wouldn’t even hesitate.

Onto some products I personally didn’t find worked for me. The first was some of the products from the Rubi Shoes beauty line. The lipsticks I’ve tried are slippery and just don’t hold up on the lips. I have swatched the darker shades and they seem better but my advice would be to steer clear of the lighter ones. The eyeshadows are just chalky and don’t transfer onto the eyelids at all, I wish that they did as I actually love the vibrant purple! The bronzer was actually very smooth however the colour is very shimmery and packaging is cheap (plus massive). Another budget brand I just didn’t get alone with is the Boe Professional Face Illuminator and Base Primer as they both broke me out so badly. Essence 3D shadows are usually fairly on point for shimmery shadows however the newest shade in 07 is chunky and really unimpressive. Similar is the Essence Sparkle & Sand Polish, it’s very chunk and although the effect is pretty cool I just really can’t stand the texture!

The L’oreal 2 Step Nail Polish in Irresistible Bon Bon isn’t a bad product because it does wear amazing and the finish is very much gel like. I aboustely love the top coat and the idea of having it together for travel. It’s the light pink shade that’s disappointing in the pigmentation and opacity. The Mary Kay duos that are now available in that Spring collection I spoke of earlier are amazing in pigmentation and smoothness - I adore the formulation! I just don’t personally like the colours. The warm bronze shade is incredible but then I would never use the yellow so I wished they’d included more wearable shades.

Wow whee! So many new products! Love the look of the new Essence blush - I’m a huge fan of them already. Brow gels seem to be making an entrance lately, the Loreal one looks so great and the brush is an awesome size! Let’s hope they have a shade to match me… It’s a shame to hear that the Rubi and Boe lines weren’t so impressive. I’ll probably save my pennies on those.

The L’oreal one is easily the best affordable one I’ve seen! I’m glad they’re becoming more readily available.

Both the Boe and Rubi lines are your classic budget beauty lines - very hit and miss. I guess that’s the risk you take buying cheaper products.

Thanks Sarah! Yeah the Rubi beauty line is decent but I think that the price reflects the quality in this case which is unfortunate. The darker lip colours maybe better then the lighter ones though. Adore Essence blushes, so glad you do too xx
