I’m often asked about what MAC lipsticks I recommend for a newbie to the brand and I’m always a little stumped because I am careful shopper who likes to carefully select colours for myself/others. These four are always ones I come back too recommending and are very well loved by me.
Ruby Woo is a matte bight, blue based red that is well known for being a very dry formulation. It is a pain to get on so proper lip preparation and a good lip brush is vital for applying however once it’s on - amazing! Not only does this make your teeth look incredibly white but it also lasts throughout the night because of that super dry formulation. If you’re after something that lasts well then it’s a fantastic one to grab! Another matte I adore is Diva a dark vampy shade that looks gorgeous on the lips. Despite having the same matte finish as Ruby Woo this is actually super easy to apply straight out of the bullet and doesn’t feel drying on the lips throughout the day.
My first ever MAC lipstick was Rebel - a satin finish it’s absolutely stunning worn very pigmented and glossy or patted down for a bit more of a stain. Although I don’t wear this as much now, I prefer to go matte if I’m wearing something bold, it is still a firm favourite. Who else remembers the days where this was THE lipstick to own from MAC?!? Last up is easily my most worn and probably the lipstick I’ll end up repurchasing before any other and it’s Creme Cup. This is the only Creme Sheen I own and I love the formula - very creamy and moisturising making it really easy to wear day-to-day. I tend not to layer this up as I find it a little too pink but when worn lightly it just gives a ‘hey I’m wearing a light pink lipstick but it’s nothing cray’ feel.
