LUXE MAKE UP STANDOUTS

There is undoubtedly some amazing affordable make up out but like everything in life sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself to something special. Although I wish I could say everything I’ve splurged on has been incredible, it hasn’t but here are some of the bits I would repurchase over and over.

1. NARS Laguna Bronzer
The very first high end beauty product I ever purchased was NARS Laguna. It’s a very sentimental product in that way but regardless, high quality and completely worth the price. This bronzer opened my eyes to world of face framing, contouring and one I’ll continually buy.

2. Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Palette 09 Odyssey
This was very hyped up in a Christmas collection a few years ago. I ummmed and ahhhed for a very long time about this quad until I couldn’t resist any longer. The packaging is equally as beautiful as the shadows and I do not regret it one bit. I admit I reserve it for special occasions however I think it’s nice to have one palette you can always rely on for events.

3. YSL Touche Eclat
I know alot of people think this is overhyped but I think that’s because there are things in the pharmacy that are marketed in a similar way. I don’t think any sort of ‘dupe’ comes close to the way this performs. It provides a subtle highlight in any area you apply and brightens instantly. It blends beautiful, is completely undetectable once worked in and just makes you look more lively. Does it conceal? No but it’s not meant too provide copious amount of coverage and that is why I love it.

4. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation
The best birthday present I have ever received (thank you Bonnie) and I’m still as much in love with it as the first time I ever applied. This is a luminous finish foundation that provides a very full coverage whilst not overloading the skin. It’s easily my favourite foundation I’ve ever used and I know it’s something I can always turn to for a good skin day.

5. Make Up Forever Aqua Brow in 10
If you’re blonde and looking for an awesome eye brow product then this is one you must try. It’s a little bit weird dispensing and applying a cream product through your brows at first but the more practice the easier it becomes. It allows you to build up the brows without getting too dark and it’s completely waterproof therefore will last all day.

6. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer
Everyone needs this in their life. I have a full post coming up about it because my skin has been awful and the only thing that seems to cover my spots at the moment is this. It’s very dry, a bit hard to work with but provides high, long-lasting coverage. A concealer sandwich with this stuff and you’ll never want to spot conceal with anything else again.

7. YSL Glossy Stains
The glamour associated with applying one of these on your lips just isn’t comparable with any other more affordable ‘dupe’. I adore the packaging and the few shades I have are just incredible. If you’re after a long-lasting, high coverage gloss then these are the ones for you.

8. Hourglass Opaque Rouges
I need to expand my collection of these but essentially they’re the most amazing matte stains on the market and nothing comes close to the wear of these. Once applied and set they don’t budge all day. An amazing product that will have you head over heels in love. This colour is beautiful on blondes and perfect for summer too.

9. Clarins Instant Concealer
I know alot of concealers can be quite hard work, like the Secret Camouflage, but this is just a dream to use. It’s so pigmented and light you barely need any of the product to cover under the eyes. It is market as a concealer for tired eyes but I find it works fine all over the place too. You do have to be careful not to apply too much but once you’re perfected that it’s a concealer you won’t be able to live without.
