MATTE LIPS WE LOVE

Matte lips are one of our favourite type of lip products here at More Than Adored. They’re long-lasting, low maintenance and you never have to worry about getting lipstick all over your face. Here are our top formulations we love and recommend.

L’oreal Glam Matte Glosses
You may have already seen this post and know how much I love them but essentially these are are very light-weight gloss that is completely undetectable on the lips. They provide the pigmentation of a lipstick without that heavy feeling. Now these won’t last more than 3-4 hours without touching up but the formulation is gorgeous so I recommend them anyway.

MAC Matte Lipsticks
Above is Ruby Woo which is my ultimate red lipstick that I continually fall back on. These can be a bitch to apply so if you’re rushing out the door don’t even bother. You need to prep the lips, have a lip liner and lip brush at the ready. Sounds like alot of work? It is but it’s so the finish and longevity.

Australis Velourlips
These are a great budget option but not a picture perfect product. You may have already seen my full review (includes swatches) but since writing that I’ve gone a little off these. Don’t get me wrong if you’re chasing a budget friendly, matte lip product that will last this is it, but I’m finding these are pretty easy to smudge which is completely out of the ordinary for a matte lip product. Regardless, the shade range is on point and I do wear these quite a bit.

Shanghai Suzy Matte Lipsticks
You all knew it was coming, my obsession with Shanghai Suzy lipsticks continue and the matte formulations is just incredible. These are extremely buttery, easy to apply and won’t break the bank either. Application is dreamy, they still offer amazing lasting power and every colour is unique. A line I cannot fault!

Hourglass Opaque Rouges
These are definitely the pick for me personally and although they are a bit of a splurge the price reflects the quality. You apply one light layer of these all over the lips and hold your lips apart, the formulation then sets completely and you’re good to go for the day. These don’t bleed, smudge or fade so if you need something to withhold a super long day at work then these are the ones for you.

Great picks! I still haven’t swatched the Loreal Glam Mattes – I really should! I’m curious to see how they are. I still haven’t purchased any of the Velourlips, the colour range is bright and peppy, but I’m a bit turned off by some of the more negative reviews I’ve read. I still need to get my hands on some Shanghai Suzy lippies!

I think Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks are some of the greatest I’ve ever tried – dare I say, almost better than Hourglass maybe! Seriously long lasting, and such great colours.
