New on counter at Bobbi Brown you’ll find the Intensive Skin Serum Corrector and also the Intensive Skin Serum Concealer. The dynamic duo work together to brighten under the eyes and over time firm the skin for a fresh look. Sounds pretty amazing right? Here are all the deets and my thoughts on the two newbies.
It’s no secret that Bobbi Brown are pretty ace at base products in particular concealers so to see two new additions made me very excited. I’ve never dipped my toes into the cream products from Bobbi so to receive these on my doorstop was really, really cool. There are 16 shades in the corrector and 15 shades in the concealer so it’s an extensive shade range and they’re designed to help with age, excessive pigmentation, boost moisture and re-energise the skin over time creating a firmer area around the eyes. It’s an interesting concept isn’t it? Using fancy ingredients like Mukul Myrrh Tree Extract among a long list to merge make up and skincare together. It’s innovative but it does have me sceptical. Can applying a make up really improve skin texture?
If you’re looking for the answer to that I can vouch for these products improving the overall firmness around my eyes. I’m 21. Apart from slight dark circles with some dehydration I don’t have too many problems in the area. Plus I’m an advocate from a good quality skincare routine so I would never recommend a make up product to solve all your skincare issues. I digress. It’s an interesting concept. How this perform as a make up product is pretty damn good. The corrector is the right salmon tone to cancel out darkness and it blends seamlessly. The concealer is just as good with blending being a dream and the coverage is medium within seconds. Both are highly, highly pigmented meaning you use only the tiniest amount per use. Genius.
These set very quickly meaning you have little time to work into the skin. It’s not that they settle it’s more that the formulation dries down very quickly so I find using the warmth of my finger the easiest to pat into the skin as it makes the product more emollient. They dry very matte and almost undetectable under the eyes which is a strange concept for me. I do set with a powder but only out of habit I really don’t think that these need it.
At $59 each they are a more expensive, luxurious product and I don’t think you need to race out and buy both. Sure they do work very well together but separately they’re just as good. I would recommend both but if you’re tossing between the two I would go the corrector - you just don’t find fantastic correctors like that in pharmacy!
