Recently I would say my skin concerns have changed from combating breakouts to brightening and reducing pigmentations. No longer do I feel like ever treatment revolves around taking down pimples - yay! Now I’m obsessed with finding brightening products that are going help fade old scars and even out my skintone. Here are 3 awesome options!
My old favourite is of course the muchly talked about REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask and it’s an absolute holy grail product for me. After my first tube of this stuff I tried to find an exact dupe and I just haven’t found something I love as much (yet). It’s a slightly gritty gel consistency which does feel weird to apply all over your face at first but after a couple of uses you’ll get used to the texture and smell (kind of smells like oranges), I promise. As you wear the mask there is tingling although it’s nothing to crazy, after 10 minutes you remove and the results aren’t instant which I have to admit I was slightly annoyed when I first used it however when you wake up the next day your skin has the most beautiful glow! I find that really fresh skin look will last about 3 days so it’s perfect to use prior to a special occasion. Enough swooning about this one, you get it - it’s the awesome and one I’m never without.
The Jojoba Company Skin Refining + Brightening Face Masque isn’t quite as affective as the REN offering on the brightening front but it’s awesome if you have an active breakout. It is a clay based product so it’s more like those traditional face masks that set up on the skin. It’s not a heavy clay product though so it’s very, very comfortable to wear and easily removed. I find that it’s a two birds with one stone product before it’s help dry up any excess oil around breakouts but also makes you skin look super fresh!
The last and newest product I’ve been trying is the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive which I received in a subscription box a few months ago but never tried it until I heard Claire Marshall mention it. I would describe this one as a more gentle version on the REN offering with a different scent. It doesn’t quite give me that long-lasting-3-day-glowy skin but it’s still a really awesome option with comparable results. I wouldn’t repurchase it but if you’ve got sensitive skin this may be a better option for you to try in terms of brightening products.
