The Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks are everywhere at the moment. The uber matte, pigmented range consists of a good range of wearable colours as well as some bright, in-your-face crazy colours as well. I’ve managed to get my hands on some of the range and done a little swatch post for you guys. Hopefully I’ll be able to swatch the rest of the range soon!
Let’s talk about the packaging first – it’s so cute and really practical as well. The applicator allows enough product to pool in the centre for your whole lips meaning you don’t have to worry about double dipping. The formulation of these is so incredibly pigmented and intense, one swipe is all you need for a good whack of colour and I wouldn’t recommend layering this formulation because it will ball up (like most matte liquid lipsticks). It’s a pretty thin consistency meaning it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything once dried down unless you’re smacking your lips together like crazy. Overall for a liquid lipstick the Jeffree Star Velour Liquids are up there with ones from higher end brands like Hourglass… They’re seriously good! All of the range are vegan friendly and cruelty-free as well!
An interesting taupey, griege colour that looks so much better on the lips then it does swatched. It’s an unique type of nude which I really like It looks gorgeous with a nude pink lipgloss over the top too.
This has a bit of a peachy undertone but it’s a really on trend soft brown. I think that peach undertone makes it a little bit more wearable and I can see it suiting alot of different people.
Think neon, pastel pink on your lips and this is it. It’s that perfect Barbie pink colour! This one can be a little patchy so I’d suggest applying a liner underneath for optimal colour pay off.
Similarly Blow Pony is a pastel, neon lavender colour and one I doubt I would brave out of the house but it is a really cool colour.
I’m actually a huge fan of purple shades and this royal purple is absolutely perfect in tone. It’s stunning and probably my favourite shade from the ones I have at the moment.
This is a limited edition shade available now and it’s the most gorgeous royal blue colour. Surprisingly I adore how it looks on the lips and it’s one I could see wearing out when I’m feeling brave… Maybe?
There was always going to be a few reds included and this is just your classic cool-toned red that suits most! I love it.
A darker, rusty red is how this shade is describe but seriously it’s BEAUTIFUL. I can see this being a favourite in the cooler months – so intense and amazing.
Ah the black. There is something you should all know about black lipsticks – they’re so hard to apply. Really hard. So practice before going out because it will stain your lips! It’s pigmented and probably the best black formulation I have.
There are a few more shades I’d like to get my hands on like Anna Nicole, Prom Night and 714 so you may see a second swatch post sometime soon but for now I’m happy with my collection. The formulation is fantastic and I really love the balance between really fun colours and wearable ones as well. Rouche Boutique is a stockist based in Australian based stockist (does ship worldwide though!) stocking these shades with more coming later this month so definitely check them out if you’re interested.
Available for $29.95 from Rouche Boutique here
Have you tried any of the shades? What did you think of them?
