It isn’t often I get super pumped about a base combination. Why? Because I rarely change up my routine but given the ridiculously hot few weeks my usually super-ridic-glowy base was just making me look even more like a sweaty mess so something had to give. Cue reverting back to an old Jane Iredale favourite and introducing something game-changing into the mix.

About two weeks ago I posted on my Insta-stories how I’ve always loved the Jane Iredale Glow Time but I find it super thick and a bit annoying to blend. It is the type of base product you hate but love all at once. Being the age we live in obviously the social media babe at Jane Iredale shot back a very helpful response within minutes. I may be using too much, different tips to applying and then the offer to send over the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer (gifted) because it’s meant to be a match made in heaven… And guys let me tell you.

I can’t recall how they told me to apply it and to be frank, I don’t care. My favourite way is to mix these two together and it creates a super creamy consistency that is uber blendable. A little goes such a long way so less is more with these two – especially the BB cream as the pigmentation is next level. I find it offers a decent medium coverage that can be sheered out and it does let the skin breathe so you don’t feel like you’re wearing a mask. Exactly what I want in the 40-degree heat we’ve been having.

This is the before and directly after applying…

Then about 15 minutes after applying and doing the rest of my make up.

Essentially it is a dreamy blend that offers me complete cover without looking cakey AND lasts well throughout the day. The best bit? You still do get a really gorgeous glow without it being too intense so I find I’m less questionably sweaty and more like ‘oh hey girl you are glowy AF’. My hot tip is: don’t give up on products you love due to one characteristic, experiment with the combinations you’re using it with and be patient because sometimes you really do find the best thing since sliced bread.

Have you ever changed a primer or powder and found a match made in heaven?
