Nile Nude | Suede Splash | Blush Basin | Scarlet Soaked | Brimming Berry | Juniper Water

Burt’s Bees no longer is just a skincare specialist brand with the release of their range of lipsticks. The collection consists of 14 shades of intense colour whilst also promising a conditioning 8-hour moisture formulation. They’re 100% natural using some gorgeous ingredients like beeswax, moringa and raspberry seed oils.

The packaging aesthetically is eye-catching and very on brand for Burt’s Bees. The fact you can see the unique colour through the ‘hive’ on the lipstick case makes it easy to see what shade is what. The lipstick is a little longer than your average bullet however given the slender package it’s nothing too bulky. One little flaw is that the lipsticks don’t wind down all the way so you do need to be aware when you’re popping the lid back on otherwise you end up with a broken top of your lipstick!

If I can agree with a claim it’s that these are intensely moisturising on the lips and so uber comfortable to wear throughout the day. I’ve been wearing Suede Splash to work and the formulation doesn’t seem to go dry and even once removed your lips don’t feel sore like other lipsticks can leave your lips feeling. Each shade boasts a satin finish which I like for the lighter colours however for the more intense shades I like to work into the lips for a softer ‘bitten’ look because otherwise I constantly fear that I will end up with it smeared across my face. In terms of the shades I have they’re all gorgeous in formulation and wear apart from Blush Basin which doesn’t have any colour pay off at all. I have a sneaking supicious mine may be a faulty one so just make sure to swatch it before purchasing!

Overall the line is beautiful and it’s exactly what I expected from the brand that does such beautiful lip care – moisturising lipsticks that won’t dry out the lips. The colour range is extensive (remember I only have half the collection here) and they wear well throughout the day. For an everyday, affordable lipstick that feels like a lip balm I would really recommend these!

These look and sound amazing, and perfect for winter too I think! I have serious case of dry lips happening at the moment with all the cold Sydney weather and matte lipsticks I have been wearing so these seem like a really nice hydrating alternative! I actually really like the packaging too! x
