Over on Instagram last month I shared a photo of some goodies I’d been sent to celebrate the launch of the new RY make up shop. I was so excited because it has been a little while since I’ve tried a bunch of new make up and I’ve been loving a few things included.
We will start off with base because if you know me you’ll know that my favourite thing to try is base products. I’ve used the Gorgeous Cosmetics First Base Primer and Liquid Foundation before. I first tried the duo when I was 17 and I fell in love with the brand. I haven’t used the foundation in a year or so but the combination is just so good. I wore them together all day and work then out for a big night (we didn’t get home until 4am) but I really only had to touch up twice. When I got home I didn’t have much left on my face but seriously I was so impressed with the wear on my combination skin.
For day-to-day I’ve been opting for the Glow Time for Jane Iredale. Although it’s a mineral BB cream god it packs a fair punch of coverage! I tend to mixture it with a moisturiser because I’m a diva and it makes it easier to apply all over the skin because on it’s own it is a fairly thick formulation. Regardless it gives the skin a really beautiful dewy finish without being super intense which is great for combination oily gals like me. MY setting powder of choice has been the Kryolan Translucent Powder and it’s the first product I’ve used from the brand – god it’s good! It doesn’t leave a white cast or look cakey so I’m a happy chappy.
Another completely new brand to me is Garbo & Kelly and I feel a bit cool now I’ve got a few of their products because I see all the Instagram girls using it. At the end of my brow tint I find I need a little more help with definition so the Pomade in Cool Blonde is great because the colour is a little lighter for me. It also is really easy to spread throughout the brows and I don’t find myself feeling so naked without definition. It can take a little longer to apply but that is to be expected right? The other product I wanted to shout out is the Master of Illumination Palette and the Lana shade has been giving me life. It’s not an everyday kind of colour but it seriously beautiful on the skin for an intenser look.
Have you tried anything from the RY make up shop yet?
