4 MANUAL EXFOLIATORS TO TRY

There is nothing more satisfying then a manual scrub right? Well I think so and I know a fair few of you guys do too after tweeting about it last week. The way it makes your skin feel so fresh and soft is the best! There are so many different scrubs out there so I thought I’d round up 4 REALLY great ones for you guys, would love to hear your favourites in the comments.

1. Goodness Every Week Face Scrub
The whole Goodness range is a relatively new one on the market boasting the use of certified organic chia oil in all their products (really honing in on trendy ingredients there). Other ingredients include avocado oil, coconut oil and then actual chia seeds plus pumice for exfoliating. It’s very gentle and I actually think it’s weird it’s called ‘every week scrub’ because it’s the type of product you could potentially use 3-4 times a week. I prefer something really gritty so it’s not my pick but for someone, like my boyfriend, who enjoys really gentle scrubs for almost everyday this is a really fantastic offering.

2. Bliss Perfecting Facial Polish
This is my kind of scrub! It’s very thick, gritty and allows you to really exfoliate the skin well. A lot of people steer away from gritty scrubs because they’re afraid of that intense texture and I can’t definitely see why. Always ensure you’re buffing products like this into the skin in a careful manner to avoid irration - trust me you still see really fantastic results. It claims to make large pores look like they’ve shrunk but I honestly don’t notice a difference, if you have really clean skin your pores are less visible because you’ve cleaned your skin well not because they’ve ‘shrunk’. Regardless a really great exfoliator but one I would opt for 1-2 times a week for an intense treatment.

3. Dermalogica Multivitamin Thermafoliant
Why do the most expensive options always have to be your favourites? When I first used this scrub I ushered Isaac into the bathroom to try it for himself (I do this often!). It’s a very thick, gritty formulation in a different way to the Bliss one. The Bliss one has granules suspended in a cream whereas this is more of a thick, oily gel with heats up when you start applying it to the skin. It’s the only one of these that combines physical and chemical exfoliant ingredients hence the pricey tag but at least you know you’ll get really great results right? I use this exclusively once a week and it’s a gorgeous product for brightening, refining and keeping the skin looking plump. A must-try!

4. Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant
Another more gentle option is this one from Trilogy that uses natural, biodegradable jojoba wax spheres as the exfoliant. It’s a creamy consistency that gently buffs away any debris without any irritation at all. Again, Isaac really enjoyed this one (before I gave it to my little sister who has sensitive skin) and it almost leaves a moisturising layer on the skin so you don’t get that tight squeaky clean feeling you can get from other options. If you have sensitive skin this is an awesome one to try!
