THE WEEKLY NOTES #11: simba’s allergy, planning gift guides, what next?

This week was a pretty uneventful one after the horrible lose by Richmond on Sunday we mourned missing out on progressing in finals (again!) and I have been working crazy hours in attempt to be a little organised for the months ahead.

Pictured above are 4 foundations that I’m thinking of reviewing next (I’ve already shot the Maxfactor one) and I want to know what you guys want to see. I know last time I asked I had a few peeps say the Laura Mercier one but I have to say, it’s a tiny bit dark for me so I’m going to order a lighter shade before going ahead with that one. The foundation reviews are some of my favourite’s to put together so I’m definitely keen to know which one you’d like to see next.

As said in the title Simba has allergies… YAY! We finally know what is causing his rash. It’s the pollen and grass that he loves rolling around it - thank goodness we got to the bottom of it. Now we have a cream we apply when he has been rolling around in the grass and we wipe him down with a damp cloth to help too… It’s a bit of a feat but luckily Simmy loves being held like a baby so he just lays there all sprawled out while we rub it on his belly.. It’s pretty damn funny! I’m so relieved we know the cause of it now though.

So I’ve been working crazy hours the past week because I want to take a step back over the summer to work on a project I’ve been dropping hints about over the past few months.. So far I’ve started planning and moulding what it’ll be exactly but I want to throw myself into it for a good few months and make it seriously amazing for you guys. I’ve been shooting photos, writing blog posts and planning content for up until Christmas so that things can remain as normal over here. I’m excited. Planning gift guides is sooo much fun and it’s making me so keen for the festive season. There are some awesome beauty packs coming out now right up until Christmas! I’m hoping to do a gift guide where I giveaway all the items included. Last year I did 30 days of giveaways to celebrate the launch of the site and during the lead up to Christmas which was crazy. I want to keep things a little simpler this year as it was so costly for me and stressful trying to get everything out to you guys before I left to spend time with my family.

What have you been up to this week? Anything exciting?

My poor labrador really suffers in spring he loses most of his coat and gets so itchy and sooky, it’s heartbreaking! It took two years to have him correctly diagnosed after many arguments with vets unfortunately but with daily washes, ointments, medication, diet etc it’s sooo much better. We’re moving back to the Northern Territory for a little while so the endless summer will help him loads :) Good luck with it Sarah!

It can be so tough when your vet doesn’t listen to you about what is happening. I’ve been there before. We’ve finally got it under control and Simmy is so good with waiting to have everything cleaned and applied.. Good luck with your move x

Ah I love the festive season! Whenever it gets to be around Christmas time my inner American wants to sit by the fire, drink hot cocoa and wear a sweater…slightly awkward in the Australian sun during christmas but I make it work!
