Even though these are meant to be a Sunday post this is the second weekend in a row where I’ve posted them on a Monday - whoops!
We’ve been super busy on the weekends lately. Just this weekend gone it was Isaac’s birthday on Saturday and I organised a date afternoon for when I’d finished work followed by a surprise birthday dinner with some family and friends. It was pretty stressful for a perfectionist like me but it turned out great and Isaac loved it! One of the things we did in the afternoon was 10 pin bowling… Um it’d had been YEARS since I last went bowling and it was so fun. Emily (Isaac’s sister) made an epic cake and all round it was alot of fun. I’m just glad I could keep it a surprise because I’m pretty awful at lying ha!
You probably noticed that Friday’s post was a collaboration with Luxatan, a tanning product I really love, and I have a few more posts this month where I’ve worked with brands that I’m super excited about. I mentioned last weeks catch up that I have alot of anxiety related to working with brands because of the approval process but honestly every time I work with a brand I’m always super proud of the content. That post, and the ones coming up this month, I’m really excited about. I think because I say no to so many different opportunities, due to not believing in the product or brand, it’s refreshing to say yes and be keen to share things with you guys. I’ve said this before but for anyone wondering you’ll never see more than 4 sponsored posts a month on the site - it’s all about balance! I feel really happy with the content (regardless of whether it’s paid work or not) I’ve been putting out and I’m feeling good about 2016 here on the site.
This week Isaac is working away and it’s the first time since living together that he has gone away for an extended period of time. It’s not even THAT long but already it feels weird to know he won’t be home after work. Poor Simba knew something was happening this morning when Isaac left with an extra bag. It’s funny how they just know isn’t it?! Even when Isaac works an extra hour or two Simmy will be on edge waiting for him to come home. It’s so super sweet. I felt really emotional about Isaac leaving for the week last night. Partly because I have my period and it’s also our 7 year anniversary on Thursday. We didn’t have any plans but it would’ve been good to spend it together. Come to think of it it will be the first time we haven’t spent it together! At least we will be able to do something on Friday when he comes home and I’m not complaining about being able to skip watching cricket in the evenings.
What did you guys get up to this week? Anything exciting?
