THE WEEKLY NOTES #42 – CATCH UP & MY 2017 GOALS

HELLO AND WELCOME TO 2017!

Although I’ve been posting this week I thought I’d better do a weekly notes post to catch you up on what has been happening and honestly – not much! We’re now under 3 months until the wedding so we are getting together money to pay off everything which means we aren’t doing too much with our weekends. We had a lovely christmas and then I jumped straight back into work at the shop with an exhausting week doing Boxing Day sales. I think if you’ve ever worked BDS you’ll know what I’m talking about – by the time New Years hit I was ready for sleep and I literally spent my days off playing Sims 3 and not worrying about Instagram/blog stuff. That made me a little behind upon my return but I needed those couple of days off for my sanity.

Read more books
Over Christmas we were all sitting around the table and a few of the ladies in my family were talking about books. They rattled off different authors and what they’d been enjoying which made me realise last year I gave up on making time to read. That made me super sad because I’ve always loved reading and found so much inspiration from reading. My plan of action is to order 2 books a month and try to get through them both. I’m excited about reading again so if you have any book suggestions please feel free to leave them below.

Comment on other people’s blogs/instagram more
I used to do this so much but I stopped making time for it as I got busier and busier. This year I want to make time every day to comment on 15 blog posts and 15 Instagram posts. It’s not a huge amount but it’s a start and I think it’s important to recognise other creators hard work.

Take the whole of March off
Blogging wise not work wise because I would never be able to afford that lol #casualworklife. As most of you will know I’m getting married in March and we’re going on a short but sweet honeymoon afterwards. I talk about getting married a fair bit but in all honesty it hasn’t been a huge focus of my 2016 life because we organised the big important things so early. I’m a very present person – when I upload content I like being there to see how it goes down, reply to comments and with the wedding I really want to enjoy the whole experience. Although taking a whole month off may sound completely drastic and over the top I’ve never taken that amount of time off since starting blogging 4 years ago. I want to take it off, enjoy it and feel all dem wedding feels.

Get laser hair removal
I touched about this over on Instagram as I did have my first consultation before Christmas and it is a goal to have my bikini line and tummy line done ASAP however with the cost of wedding/honeymoon I decided to postpone the treatment until after the wedding. It’s about $450 and although I’d love to have it all sorted as soon as possible my wallet just won’t allow it. I will keep you guys posted on when I do get it done though!!

Do more group classes
Before Christmas I tried my first group class at my gym and surprisingly I did really enjoy it. Sounds crazy but although I know I’m pretty fit there was just so much anxiety of working out in a group setting – I did it and enjoyed it so yay! Now I want to try to make at least 1 class a week and change up my routine a little bit.

Rebrand and redesign MTA so I’m happy with this space
I’ll be talking about this more in an upcoming post however a big goal for me in 2017 is redesign and rebrand this space. I’ve come to realise that a few things I was trying to do just isn’t me and I want to keep things very ‘me’…. That sounds so shit but you feel me?

What are some of your goals for 2017?

I haven’t played the sims in AGES. I would usually just make a family and build a house and then actually not really play the game at all. lol.
I’m with you on reading, I’ve REALLY struggled to get into reading. I will become completely absorbed in a book if I love it and finish it in a few days but if I pick up a book and am just not loving it well thats a different story. I’m not the kind of person that will just casually read for 30 mins a day or anything. It’s all or nothing! I’ve been trying to read mary poppins for a few months. I think I’m going to give up on it and pass it on to someone else soon.
Those are some good goals. This year I want to complete a photo a day for 365 days. Journal every day AND I want to really focus on my relationships a lot more. AND give up facebook! Day 3 and going strong! lol.

I only just discovered an old disk in my draws and was like hell yes that’s what I’m doing for the next two days haha I use cheats but I still find it fun :P

It’s so hard isn’t it? I’m exactly the same in that I always spend a whole day reading but I’m going to try to go to bed a little earlier so I can read for an hour… Fingers crossed it works.

That’s amazing Mel! I don’t journal but have always considered it.. Can’t wait to hear how you go :)

Wow these are some great goals Sarah! I’d love to make a post similar to this and share mine!!! You definitely deserve the whole month of your wedding off blogging. I just had posts scheduled and let people know I wouldn’t be around to comment or be active on my socials and all my readers were so understanding and it didn’t effect things too much at all. You only ever get married once so you have to live it up!!! You are going to be such a stunning bride. Can’t wait to see the MTA rebranding, the website already looks so good I can’t imagine what else you could do to make it better!

Only 3 months from D Day! How exciting! :D I definitely feels you for rebranding too. I think keeping on top of website design and what works for you can really impact how you feel about your blog. I need a change too -_- Looking forward to reading your content in 2017!
