THE WEEKLY NOTES #29: IT’S BEEN A HARD WEEK

This week has been a bit of a hard one for me work wise. Normally I’m really motivated when working 3 days at home on the site. I get up at 6:30, work out then start work at 9-9:30 like a regular job and finish around 5. I have lunch break and take time in the afternoon to spend it with Isaac. This week I’ve felt really out of routine and overwhelmed with all the life stuff that’s happening at the moment. We are planning the wedding, we have lots of birthdays around this time, we’re in the process of getting our passports sorted for our trip in July and just generally trying to keep our shit together with it all. When I’m overwhelmed I tend to shut down and especially when I’m PMSing so this week I’ve really struggled.

Why am I complaining to you guys in a blog post? Although I’m 100% very lucky to be in a financial position where I can work 6 days a week (3 of those at home on the website) it isn’t as glamorous as what people make it out to be. It’s isolating and fucking tough. There is this misconception that people who run websites, Youtube channels or any sort of business at home have it easy which is so far from the truth. Personally I think it’s hard because you’re alone calling all the shots, prioritising what needs to be done and what waits and if you take any time off there isn’t Sally from the next office who will pick up the slack that’s something you’ll have to deal with yourself. I always catch myself telling people ‘I’m incredibly lucky to do what I do’ and in some ways I am but when I think about it it’s not an easy gig!

I’m not going to apologise for only getting 3 posts up this week because hey it happens! Next week is all planned out so we’ll be back to normal then. This post was a little sooky but something Isaac and I always talk about is keeping the space real and relatable so it felt right to chat about it.

Oh and I’m considering changing my upload time too 8am EST instead of 5pm EST just to freshen things up! What do you guys think?

How has your week been?

If it makes you feel better I’ve had a tough week too, when I get stressed I tend to just go into over drive not in a good way. I’ve also got an upcoming trip and it’s crazy how much needs to be put in order before you can just buzz off and enjoy yourself.

As well as getting a new job and finishing my current one, I’ve just wanted to spend what I have of my free time, relaxing. Looking forward to getting back into it, and I enjoy whatever you write - however little or much you can do :)

  • Everything you’ve said is completely true but the best thing about tough weeks is that they can only get better! Hopefully you’ll feel a little better this coming week. You’re totally right about how tough it can be to keep content up to scratch, while still keeping it regular - it’s definitely taught me a thing or two about relying on myself! Lots of love!
