Affordable concealers that work can be hard to come by so for today’s #mtabudgetmonth post we’re giving you the low down on the best concealers that don’t cost a bomb.
Origins Plantscription Anti-aging Concealer
Now I know this one isn’t available in Priceline but I thin $24 for a multi-purpose concealer is pretty damn good in Australia. It can be used both under the eyes or on blemishes without a worry and the highly pigmented formulation means you get some really fantastic coverage. It’s so creamy making it a dream to apply and blend but also means you do need to set it with something translucent to make sure it lasts all day. Overall it’s one I personally can’t fault and I’ve repurchased it over and over.
The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye
This is a really interesting product to use and there is definitely a knack to applying it. It’s similar in texture to any pore-filling primer but does add a slight, emphasise on the word slight, coverage under the eyes. It’s describe as a tinted concealer and primer which is exactly how I use it. Applying this with patting motions blurs any fine lines under the eyes and if you take it up onto the lids it primers them well for any eyeshadows. If you have a problem with fine lines around the eyes and want something to fill those in before a regular concealer this one would be one to try.
L’oreal Infallible Longwear Concealer
Previously I hadn’t been a fan of any stick concealers because I find them a little drying on the skin but L’oreal have really nailed the formulation of this. I apply it with my fingers to warm the product up and once it hits the skin it just melts in like a dream. Stick concealers like this are generally better suited to imperfections around the face rather then under the eyes but it’s a fantastic medium coverage concealer.
Physicians Formula Super BB Concealer
Although this is in the ‘BB’ line I would say this has the coverage of a regular concealer. This is one I reach for when I just want to add a little coverage to my complexion but can’t be stuffed fluffing around with foundation. It blends into the skin well, gives lovely coverage and can be used on imperfections and under the eyes. The negative about this product is the fact that the shade range is very poor and it can oxidise one you so be careful and perhaps try it out instore first.
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer
People ask me all the time if this is a dupe for the YSL Touche Elcat but honestly I don’t think they are even in the same league of products so it’s unfair to be comparing them. Unlike the YSL this is designed too, and does, provide coverage as well brightening the face. I generally only use this under the eyes if I’m feeling tired and need a serious pick me up. It lasts well when set with a powder and gives coverage whilst brightening.
