Vampy lip colours are my favourite. Nothing makes me feel more sexy and confident then a dark lip. As the weather cools down it’s the perfect time to pull some dark, daring shades and play around with the vampy hues.
My first ever vampy-ish lipstick was the Maxfactor Colour Exilir Lipstick in Mulberry. When swatched it looks like a dark nude however on the lip it has darker berry tone with shimmer running throughout. Yep, shimmer! But trust me when I say it’s nothing that’ll remind you of Grandma and it adds a fullness to the lips. It’s the perfect way to ease into the dark hues if you’re a little unsure.
If you’re after something a little more purple toned then the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush is a must try! It has a gorgeous purple hue whilst still being deep and luscious on the lips. It can be built up to be very intense or sheered out for a bitten type look. It’s definitely a fun way to break away from the traditional vampy lips!
Two fairly similar shades are the Lasting Finish by Kate Moss 107 Lipstick and the Savy by DB Long Lasting Matte Lipstick in Bali. I talk about both fairly regularly here in the beauty section because they’re both incredible matte shades that are super affordable. The Rimmel offering is slightly more red than the Savvy by DB but both are worth a look at when you’re next in store.
My last and possibly my favourite of the bunch is MAC Diva. This is easily the darkest lipstick I own and the one I feel most confident when I’m wearing. It’s deep, dark and just a show-stopper on the lips. Some may say it should be reserved for evening events but I say where is the fun in that? I regularly rock this at work and I think it’s alot of fun! Possibly one to build up too but a seriously gorgeous shade!

Surprisingly a pretty good formulation for the price! Not too fond on the packaging though but you can’t have it all for under $10 :P
Rimmel 107 is always my pick for vampy lips!
