We all do it. We fall into the cycle of buying the same cuts and the same patterns because we know we feel and look great in them.

One of the things I’m trying to do more is to step outside my comfort zone and try new things. When I choose things out from Little Party Dress each month, as you guys know Kel and I have an ongoing relationship, I have the habit of choosing things I know I’ll enjoy and love. Each time I’m trying to choose at least one thing that is completely new for me and this time it was this Crush Mustard Floral Dress.

I worried the pattern and colour would look all wrong on me. The cut would be unflattering and I would feel way to girly or outside of my comfort zone. I won’t lie I do feel a little weird wearing such a dress with such a bright floral BUT it also makes me smile.

The thing about comfort zones is they are there to make us feel something – of course I’m going to feel different when I’m on the outer! When I pulled the dress out of the packet I instantly wanted to do a little happy dance. It was bright but not neon like I thought the floral would be and I feel as though the cut does suit me. If you’ve been thinking about this one I highly recommend trying it out!

This dress looks gorgeous on you! I have a real aversion to anything floral, but I’ve been thinking I ought to get over it & just ease myself into something floral….or at the very least try something on just to see if I might like it. Pushing yourself outside of your style comfort zone is always good & you never know, you might end up surprised.

I love how that dress looks on you and I don’t think the pattern is too much at all, it actually really suits you I think!

I’ve been trying to leave my comfort zone with style and experiment a bit more lately as well, my fav thing at the moment to experiment with is denim but my budget is like oh god Julia please stop :p
