Coconut Oil is one of the greatest, affordable, multi-purpose gems on the market. I’ve been using coconut oil for the past 12 months and I’ve put together my 10 favourite ways to incorporate it into my beauty routine. One jar of this stuff has endless possibilities, seriously.
1. AS A MAKE UP REMOVER
I’m big on removing make up before I go in with a cleanser. I tend to switch out different cleansing oils, balms but Coconut Oil is just as effective. I take a small amount of the oil into my palm and warm the product until it’s soft enough to apply to the face. I then work it around my face, finishing the eyes. Remove with a face cloth and follow with a cleanser. Perfect.
2. TO SHAVE WITH
I’m always raving about using a body oil to shave with and coconut oil is perfect too! You just slather onto your legs and go about shaving as usual. It gives you a really close shave and leaves a moisturising layer on the skin so you didn’t even have to bother with moisturising after.
3. DEEP CONDITIONING HAIR TREATMENT
Probably the most common beauty way to use Coconut Oil and for good reason too! This really makes a difference to the health of your hair even after one use. I tend to apply on damp hair and leave for as long as possible. I then shampoo and condition as usual, sometimes shampooing twice if I feel as though all the oil hasn’t rinsed out. It’s literally changed my hair.
4. FACIAL OIL
This is one I only do when I feel as though my face is extremely dry. I apply a little all over the face and sleep with the layer on. It does leave a residue on the skin but when you wake up it’s worth the discomfort because your face feels brand new!
5. TREAT DRY HEELS
Not so glamorous but it works!
6. MASSAGE OIL
Perfect for relaxing and pretending you’re in a tropical getaway (trust me the scent will take you there). Leaves the skin super soft and moisturised.
7. IN YOUR BATH
I make sure I have the oil in liquid form for this one because otherwise it can be hard to measure out how much you’re putting in. I only put a very small amount because otherwise it can be a bit too much but bathing in this stuff with revive your skin and leave it feeling amazing.
8. CUTICLE OIL
Similar to the dry heels - it just works!
9. AS A LIP BALM
I don’t love using it as a lip balm because, let’s face it, the jar is just far too big to carry around ha! If I’m ever at home and cooking it works really well to slather on your lips. Plus it tastes great too.
10. AS A BASE FOR FACIAL & BODY SCRUBS
There are so many recipes out there with Coconut Oil as a base too it. I would highly recommend checking them out because it’s one of my favourite moisturising yet exfoliating treatments.

Ah the wonders of coconut oil! I’m particularly interested in trying as a makeup remover but I’m not too sure what kind of coconut oil I should be buying because there are heaps on the market. Do you have any recommendations? :)
