Make up on Christmas Day can be a tough one. You want to look presentable for all those impromptu photos but at the same time you don’t want to spend an hour in your bedroom applying a face. We’ve put together a little guide that’ll have you look great but be super easy too do.
Of course you’ll want some sort of base product to even out your complexion. Whether you opt for something light or a regular foundation it’s up too you. I’m suggesting the Arbonne Liquid Perfecting Foundation purely because you can quickly apply this bad boy with your hands and it’s super long-lasting. A Tinted Moisturiser like the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser would work perfectly too.
You definitely won’t want to be doing a whole blush/contour/highlight routine so perhaps opt for just your bronzer, my pick is NARS Laguna (of course). That way you can still add dimension by dusting it around your face in a ‘3’ motion. Another option could be just a small dusting of blush on the apples of cheeks!
Onto eyes and I wouldn’t bother with eyeshadow, it takes far too long and honestly a sh*t tonne of mascara on the lashes will make you look amazing anyway. Spend a extra second building up that mascara - you won’t regret it when you look at the photos later. Benefit They’re Real is an awesome one for layering and getting a good dramatic lash without clumping. Next add a flesh-toned eyeliner in the waterline too make you look super awake. Finish off the eyes by filling in the brows because I know I can’t go without it. A great quick product is the Eye Of Horus Brow Define.
Now for lips it’s so appropriate to wear a red lip of some kind. If you want something super long-lasting opt for a matte product like Ruby Woo. Although it will take a little to apply, you won’t have to stress about reapplying throughout the day of eating and drinking. As for a more comfortable option, the Rimmel Colour Balms are great for a glossy, comfy lip product.

Fab post, and I do always struggle with Christmas day makeup. I’m either totally bare faced, or OTT!

Mascara & Maltesers
I tend to do my usual makeup and pair it with a statement lip! I never have enough time in the morning to mess around for long.

Loved this post. I’m sure I’ll have the best intentions of sticking to minimal products but I’ll probably still end up with a whole face. I just have too much fun applying all of my makeup lol. Plus I usually like to try all of the makeup I got as gifts straight away :P
Luckily I don’t have to worry about impromptu photographs, I like to keep things minimal, but it’s nice to dress up a little for lunch and dinners. Merry Christmas!

Great guide, although I can’t miss out the eye shadow - good thing I’ve managed to invent a couple of really quick eye makeup looks using my Naked 2 palette aha!
