As per requested we’re kicking off a new series to compliment #mtabudgetmonth sharing the best MAC dupes we’ve found. Mac do some amazing lip colours but we’ve found some pretty similar colours right beneath our nose at the pharmacy.
Mac ‘Sweetie‘ is an usual colour and not one I ever thought I would love. The lustre finish lipstick offers a sheer, glossy finish for the purple toned pink. In the bullet it looks glittery and boring but on the lips it lightens up your skin whilst remaining low maintenance.
Mac Sweetie is fairly unique so I found it pretty hard to find something exactly the same on the lips by Maybelline’s Color Sensational Shine in ‘Juicy Bubblegum’ is fairly close. Although it’s a little more pink rather then purple it gives a really similar look. They even feel very similar in finish thanks to the glossy, sheer nature of the Maybelline line.
If you’ve never heard of Sweetie but are curious about the neutral shade I would opt for at least trying the Maybelline version. I do have a very soft spot for Sweetie because of that purple hue it throws but the Maybelline is just as good in formulation.

I haven’t ever tried either of these but the colours look amazing, I’ll definitely need to think about picking one up. Think i’ll go for the maybelline first though! Keep posting the mac dupes, can never do better than a dupe for mac!

I’m a newbie to both lipsticks, MAC is no doubt the best, well in my opinion :) but that Maybelline one looks gorgeous too, it looks light, more dreamy in your paper swatch pic x
