I know what you’re thinking - Sarah you’ve gone crazy but hear me out. For the longest time I thought I could only wear mattifying primers due to my skin type. In the past year that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and tried radiant primer because I craved that dewy glow. Here are three of the best that I’ve found really work for me.
The Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is a cult product and for good reason. This is pretty much good skin in a bottle. One week my skin was just looking a bit ‘blah’ probably due to hormones or the fact I’ve been enjoying way to much dairy-free ice cream. I decided to give this a whirl and the cult product did not disappoint. It’s designed to brighten, tighten and moisturise the skin and whilst I’m a little sceptical about the tightening claims it did brighten and moisturise. Everything just looked less sallow and ‘blah’ which I really appreciated. Make up sits on top of it well and the finish is gorgeous. I find myself reaching for it on days I’m not wearing make up too because it’s just that good.
With the Dr.Lewinn’s Instant Beauty Radiance Booster you can expect very similar results. What sets this one apart is that it’s over 70% aloe vera so if you have any active pimples, sore spots or redness this is really going to help soothe the skin. I also find this smoothes over the pores a little better then the Clarins because the formulation is less moisturiser-y and slightly leans towards a Benefit Porefessional feel whereas the Clarins is definitely a full-blown moisturising product with less smoothing properties.
Now onto my personal favourite flavour of the month and it’s the stunning Laura Mercier Radiance Primer. You can’t get much more glowy then this one and it’ll forgive even the most sallow of complexions. It’s a water-based gel consistency which gets a big tick from me because it’s so easy to blend over the skin and absorbs like a dream. When dispensed it does look a little cray due to the pearl tint the product has but trust me when I say once blended into the skin it gives a gorgeous healthy glow. Topped with foundation and you’re guaranteed to be having a good skin day with all those pesky imperfection blurred - it’s incredible.

Wow you had me at glowy and oily skin. I’m always so worried to pick up anything that mentions the word glowy or dewy hahha. I might venture off now !

I was too until I tried these. I’m obsessed now! I still powder but they make a huge difference :) x
I love Laura Merciers Tinted Moisturizer, which gives me a great glowy finish o it’s own, but I have never tried their primer. Actually, I seldom use primers anyway.
