Support can be pretty hard to come by in the blogging community. Of course we all should support each other and even if you don’t have a blog there are so many ways you can easily show your favourite blogger you love and appreciate their page!

Speaking from experience it can be mentally challenging working solo on a blog. You are photographer, writer, editor, designer, accountant, marketing AND communications manager just to name a few and these are all gigs that people study at university for years to become. It can be tough and just this week I ran into a photography issue I had (still don’t have) any idea how to fix. I tweeted about the issue and some of my blogging buds offered to help *you guys rock* which made me think – this community can be so catty and awful but also so freaking great as well!

Take the time to respond to comments on your page! I usually reply to all comments on Monday morning, or sooner if I have a spare moment, and even if it’s just a small ‘thank you’ – it makes a huge difference to how your community and you feel. Also taking the time to read and comment on other bloggers pages makes all the difference. You know how you feel when you get a nice comment? Pretty darn good right? Why not leave that on someone else’s page?! Never underestimate the power of your words because it can really make someone’s day.

This one I definitely don’t do enough of (I’m trying to more) – share your favourite posts! Sheri does ‘10 Posts you should read‘, Helen does ‘10 Blogs Worth Reading‘ and similarly Taylor did a ‘Top 3: Beauty Bloggers‘. Not only does this sort of post give you something else to publish on your own page but it shares the love! It can be as simple as tweeting the link to an awesome post you just read. It’s super easy and a friendly way to say ‘hey you rock at what you’re doing!’. You never know the person may link you back or get in touch to collab or something cool like that.

Clicking is something I know not everyone is going to be into but I always make sure if I see some sidebar advertisers that I check them out. I’ve found some of my favourite blogs and retailers through sidebar advertising! It’s just a little way you can support your favourite blogger. Another similar way is if you’re featuring, or just wearing something loads, that you bought off another blogger’s recommendation why not link back to their page? Or if you’ve used a photo of theirs let them know (like I have with the cover photo!). Make sure to share on social media @ tagging them too! I always look at any tags or if I see traffic from another blog coming in I make sure to hunt down the post I was mentioned in!

The amount of bloggers, and even just blog readers, who shy away from asking questions about a product or about blogging is crazy! I’ve tweeted some of the biggest bloggers out there a dumb question like ‘Have you changed the lens you’re using? Your photography is looking great!’ and guess what? They replied! It’s so easy to feel silly asking a simple question but bloggers love that you’ve taken the time. If they don’t reply straight away don’t be disheartened, gosh even follow up with a second tweet the next day asking if they’d seen it – chances are they were just busy or if they’re really popular missed the tweet altogether (not me lol).

What are your favourite ways to support fellow bloggers?

I also love meeting up with fellow bloggers in my own city. I always tell my blogging friends that there is plenty of room in this world for more bloggers and competition among us is just a bit silly! No one else has your perspective, so get together, share, and encourage one another!

That’s a great idea! I don’t live where there are many bloggers but if I did that would be awesome. I completely agree with you on encouraging each other :) x

This is a great article, and really gets to the heart of bloggers helping bloggers. There’s nothing more satisfying that writing up a post that you’re proud of – it’s even better when a fellow blogger (possibly even one you admire) comments and let’s you know they liked it. It can make a huge world of difference! I don’t get a lot of time to comment these days, which bugs me, so I’ve been trying to set aside a few hours every week to go through my favourite blogs, check out new blogs and just comment! I try to share as much as I can on social media too! xx

Great tips for supporting each other! I love discovering new beauty blogs and commenting on them which is one of the reasons why I initiated the Monday Makeup Madness link up party on my blog.

Great post Sarah. I love it when my readers comment on my posts and when a fellow blogger shares what I have written it makes me feel fabulous. I love reading and commenting on other bloggers pages and often share their content. I also enjoy discovering new blogs through linkups and my reading list grows day by day :-)

Really amazing tips. I do think that networking is what makes blogging feel so great. I’ve been blogging for a few months now but I think I have to be a lot more open on social media and whatnot. I think support is definitely important, and I love commenting and asking questions! I find no shame in it whatsoever. <3 Thanks for sharing!

It really is! I love chatting to everyone over social media…. It’s like a whole other circle of friends :) x

Completely agree with this! It can take quite a bit of time reading posts and commenting, and sometimes I almost DON’T comment just for sake of time, but then I remember how much I love it when people comment on my posts and that gets me commenting for sure! Blogging is all about the interaction after all and it sucks if you’re talking to yourself. I really love Twitter, because everyone (no matter big or small blogger) can interact in such a casual way and it’s like we’re all friends!

So sweet of you to link to my blog Sarah! I love doing the 10 posts you should read posts :) Thank you!

Love this! Getting comments is so flattering, because not only did the person take the time to read, but they also took the time to share their thoughts with you. I love replying and returning the gesture on their blogs (or other social media if they don’t have a blog). x

Yes I’m the same! I always open everyone’s link and follow if I’m not following and comment on some posts. I love being able to learn more about readers who have blogs :) x

Great post Sarah. I tend to comment back on the blogs of those who have taken the time to read my post (as I agree, it really is a nice feeling to get a comment). I need to share articles I find inspiring more often though!
