PMS is something all women face to some degree. Whether it’s slight cramping (or cray, insane ones!) or emotional mood swings that result in tears at the simplest thing like a TV advertisement. We’ve all been there! But have you ever done anything to combat those PMS symptoms? The below are some little things that have really made a difference for me.
I know it’s the last thing you feel like doing but even going to the gym and sitting on the bike for an hour can help alleviate cramps and take your mind off it. Studies have proven women who exercise regularly show less PMS symptoms so according to science hit dat gym gurl!
Make best friends with a hot water bottle
A common one but seriously they’re so good at helping soothe any sore spots and reduce cramps. Need to leave the house? There are some uber cool heat pads you can find at your supermarket that you stick on and they go un-noticed under clothing – win!
Get enough sleep or a nap
It does REALLY help so put the remote down and re-watch Friends another day.
Eat enough and eat well
Boooo! I know all you want is a delicious piece… Block.. Of chocolate but try to resist. Eating food high in omega-3 fatty acids, protein and magnesium will help ease your PMS symptoms. I also take a vitamin around my period that’s high in magnesium and fatty acids which does help me that little bit extra.
