Since moving into this place and having the luxury of setting up a home office you guys have been requesting a bit of a look around. It’s not finished and I don’t love everything about it but I thought I’d share with you a few photos as I had a bit of clean up last week. Disclaimer: my office is NEVER this clean.

This space is my office and I also have my vanity in here because obviously beauty is a large part of what I talk about so I like having them both together as it’s more functional for me. It is quite a big room! We live in an older rental so it’s been tricky to fill whilst keeping in mind that eventually when we buy our place will most likely be smaller. I decided to go with simple Ikea table tops and legs for now. It’s not the prettiest but it’s a huge work station so it’s functional. On the wall I have a peg board I’ve painted white with a plan of the year. I’m a visual person and every year I try to use a diary and it never works!!! I even bought one this year and I just haven’t been able to through myself into it. The reason I have them on pieces I’ve ripped off a planner pad is because I actually use these to highlight when I’ve completed content and if I’m writing out a month of ideas sometimes it can get messy so using these ones allows me to rearrange and redo the months as often as I need.

My work space is fairly cluttered but when I have it all clear it gives me anxiety. I like having photos, prints and plants around to make it feel more homely. The same goes with my make up area. I like having things out and accessible so I don’t have to go hunting around in draws for items. Alot of websites will recommend having a clear space and although I agree a bomb site won’t help you be productive – find a balance that works for YOU.

I don’t have the best storage solution for my photography props but the corner stash doesn’t bother me. I thought about getting a bookshelf but as I said we’re in a rental so I don’t want to buy too many things until we buy a place. I’ve labelled most things above. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the items :)

What do you think of my work space?

This looks awesome! I wish I had this kind of space. My office is actually part of our dining room and I hate that I can’t just shut the door cause I work a little messy too lols.

Completely in love with your set-up – I wish I had this much space to spread out and really have a space just for beauty stuff but unfortunately it’s all crammed in to one teeny bedroom :( I particularly love the yearly lay out on your wall – I can imagine this coming in handy so much!

Thanks Ash! I’m so very lucky to have all the space I have. Prior to moving here last year I was doing it from the spare room… Let’s just say it was crazy!

Love this Sarah – I have been contemplating getting some peg board for a while to hang things off/make shelves and you have just made up my mind! Going to the hardware store on the weekend!! You have an amazing set up, and I am lucky enough to have a room about the same size! I definitely gets a little crazy in there too!!

Thanks Mel! The peg board is SO handy. I’ve got a blue one as well I’ve been planning on doing some prints and making it more of a display one but I haven’t got their yet. They’re super handy :)

I have major work space envy right now! Just having moved to Brissy means I am living temporarily in a group living area and I have no real space of my own at the moment. Blogging on the couch seems great at first but it really affects your productivity! Can’t wait to move somewhere with an office space! :) Also, love your editorial calendar on the wall! :)

Awww man Brissy is so nice though Kate :P

The editorial Calendar is awesome. So handy for me to visually see what is coming up!

I love how white everything is, gorgeous! i have the same rug draped over my chair for photo backgrounds, but I actually do sit on it haha! It’s somewhat cushioning and saves having a cold butt in winter hahaaaaa :P

Looks gorgeous Sarah! Your so organised with your yearly planning in action I wish I was half this organised haha I love how your area is not over cluttered as well just looks so streamline and clean. I need to fix my area up and get my head into gear with planning more. Loved this post!

This looks like the ultimate set up! I love how you keep all of your props in one little area. I have one white board and I just throw all my props on, slide it under the bed when I’m done hahah – not the best!

& I really think I should invest in a good office chair, it’s so important! + my current posture is terrrrrrible x

At least they’re out of the way then :P

YES you should! Although Simba is always sleeping on it with me so half the time I’m hunched over xD

OMG Sarah your setup is amaaaaazing! I have no room for my blog backgrounds and bigger props either! I have a massive piece of MDF board I use from Bunnings that just chills in my beauty room, along with my tripod! Anyone that knows me can probably figure it’s for my blog, hehe. I think you have done a stunning job at decorating and making the space feel warm and inspiring!

Thanks Sarah!!!! That means so much to me. Before moving here I used to have tripod and lights set up on my spare bed :P my real estate agent gave me the weird look come inspection xD

Your setup = amazing Sarah and I love how organised it is! I’d LOVE something like this for myself but alas, I blog from the couch & use my (in the process of being renovated) bedroom to take photos in since I have no furniture in it atm (and it has a nice big window that lets in the afternoon sun).

Oh & is your dressing table from Ikea? If so, I’ve had my eye on that for ages! I kinda want one, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to fit it in my room once renovations have been finished. My room’s big, but I’m not sure if its big enough.

What a great set up! I agree though, I need pictures, art, and things around me to inspire me or else I feel bare and anxious! I love the look of a minimal desk, but it could never actually work for me!

  20. 38

I love how bright and pretty your workspace is! Mine has been a work in progress for quite some time, but slowly but surely it is getting there! I love the way a minimalist space looks but I imagine I’d hardly ever be able to actually keep it that way. Thanks for the inspiration!
