What a week! I know I say that in most of these posts but it’s the last post I write each week so most of the time I’m pooped. Thank you for all your feedback on the SHOP tab that launched this week - make sure you check it out if you haven’t already. Here are the beauty products that I’d recommend checking out over the weekend.
I’ve scaled it back majorly with trying new bits because my skin started to look really dull. I’ve switched back to using micellar waters to remove my make up and also cleanse in the morning if I’m in a rush. The Simple Micellar Cleansing Water is an awesome one and I’m super happy with how gentle it is on my skin. If you’ve had no luck with other affordable micellar water options perhaps give this one a go. I’ve been really loving manual exfoliants once or twice a week and the Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish is wonderful for giving the skin a really fantastic deep cleanse. It has that perfect amount of grit without being ‘too much’. If you have sensitive skin maybe stay away but if you’re a fan of gritty scrubs this is the bees knees! I’ve been alternating this Jurlique Purely White Night Cream with my other Jurlique favourite you would’ve read about earlier in the week here. Although I think it’s a combination of products that is brightening my skin this is definitely helping! The texture is great for anyone with combination/oily skin too.
A new mascara favourite is the Maxfactor Masterpiece Transform Mascara if you read my ‘What We Wear’ edition last week you would know I’ve been layering my mascaras like crazy - this is amazing for on top of any other mascara. The wand allows you to really pull through the lashes separating and defining really easily. This can flake the tiniest amount but that wouldn’t stop me from repurchasing because the wand and formulation otherwise is just awesome.
Last up is a bit of a love/hate but mostly love. The Clarins Daily Energiser Lovely Lip Balm is a gorgeous balm that’s light but super hydrating and easy to apply out of this lipstick-like bullet. The packaging IS only cardboard though and although the print is fun I would’ve like to have see something a little more durable for the packaging.

I’m glad I’m not the only one Julia! I love the product though so I’m a bit torn. I have to say it does live in my office over my handbag so they cardboard packaging isn’t much of an issue for me but when you’re a paying customer (and if I had of purchased it myself) I’d be disappointed with the cheaper packaging they’ve used.
Cardboard packaging?? LOL. I’ve always been a bit skeptical of Simple, it seems like there are some horror stories going around like with their makeup wipes, but it’s good that they’re micellar water seems to be alright! I’ve been enjoying the LRP micellar water lately.
