Describe your personal workspace. What would we find on the desk?
I always go with monochrome and neutrals when it comes to my workspace – I love to keep thing minimalistic and add a touch of colour with succulents & plants as well as texture with a bit of marble. Personally, I can’t live without my 2015 An Organised Life diary and to do list notebook. A pen, pencil, highlighters, stapler, ruler, calculator, scissors, a marble pen holder, a pin board to hold all your inspo and reminders, black Muji folders for filing, a plain black box for holding invoices, a succulent and a MAC computer of course!
A Diary, Highlighters and a strategic filling system.
2.FUNCTION: When decorating your desk use pieces that also have a function. One of my favourite desk accessories is a white pin board that I have all my inspo on as well as invites & reminders, another favourite is a beautiful marble vase that can be used as a pen/pencil holder as well.
2. ALWAYS WRITE IN PENCIL: One thing I have learnt is that life always throws you curve balls, dates change and priorities shift. I HATE having to cross out something in my diary and creating a messy page! The answer – write in pencil! That way dates, meetings and important deadlines can easily be altered! Don’t get me wrong I love pen - but date wise, pencil is always key.
3. PRIORITISE: Creating your own strategy for prioritising your work each day is key. For me I use a highlighting system at work. For example pink are my priorities for the morning, blue are my priorities for the afternoon & green are extremely important dates, meetings or reminders. I use this system everyday and it helps me get through all of my list. Another option (if you’re like me and hate adding colour to your 2015 diary) is using the same method above but with symbols. For example a small black dot, a star and the letters IMP for important or simply AM, PM & a star symbol.

Gah this is such a good post. I’ve bookmarked - I really need to declutter my space like mad, I just haven’t got the time right now. I need to set a good few hours aside for this! xx

Yep right there with you Ellie :)
You should see my room at work/school. A total bomb site! However, my diary is a life with all the experiments and activities booked in for each teacher. They are highlighted and ticked as they are done and I always write in pencil!

HAHA! Love it Kat… At least your diary is on point ;P
Oh man feeling guilty right now. I get so lazy when it comes to organizing everything so papers are not aligned and everywhere, random junk all over my desk and I seriously need to designate a place for pr samples :S

Great tips! I’m horrible at using my planner-the pencil tip is one I must begin to use. There are so many cross outs and it makes me so frustrated to see my pretty planner becoming victim to date and time changes!
