The new collection from Shu Uemura is a collaboration with Kathleen Kye who is a Seoul street designer. It’s a very eclectic, unique collection boasting bright colours and products that push the norms. It’s designed to showcase the Asian beauty style to the world – think youthful and playful.
So although this is a Spring release for the Northern hemisphere for us down under it’s going into the cooler months which makes the products seems little out of place. Regardless of that the packaging of this collection is divine with a fun print and pops of pink and orange. I particularly love the Sublime Cleansing Oil bottle and how bright it is! The Cleansing Oil itself lives up to its cult beauty status by effortlessly breaking down your make up without any sort of effort at all – even waterproof eye things! Whether you grab it from this collection or just the regular line it’s worth trying out.
The make up items are interesting because they’re both things I wouldn’t buy myself First is the Eyebrow Pencil in Sword which is described as a dark dusky rose. Although it does have some rose in there, definitely is more prominent when applied rather then the swatch on the card, it’s not the most out there shade that I was expecting. They’ve taken the concept of unique brows and made it that little bit more wearable for the everyday person. Formula wise the pencil is that perfect balance between being creamy but not creamy so you can control the product when feathering it through the brows. It’s an interesting colour and one I’m still playing with how to use. As for the lip balm in Hugged it’s fairly bright and playful on the lips. I can imagine this being dreamy for minimal make up days with some bronzer and light brows.
