With Spring weather right around the corner when I was asked to round up some ace tanning products I thought now was the perfect time to pop this article up. Self-tanning isn’t as scary as it seems and these products are all really great quality so you’ll be a pro in no time!

For the face..
Tanning the face is one of those things some people love doing and others just don’t bother in fear it’ll break them out. My advice is to tread carefully and definitely to opt for something that is designed for the facial area. J Bronze Face Flawless Tan is a product that’s easy to apply over the skin and super gentle. It has a four hour developing time, meaning they recommend to leave it on for four hours then rinse, which I sometimes cut down to two depending on the event (if I have a really deep tan on the body I’ll leave it for the full amount but just for everyday I don’t bother). Tanning the face really does cut down the amount of foundation you have to wear but it does have to be very well maintained because as you wash your face thoroughly everyday it doesn’t last as long.

For quick developing and long-lasting tan..
The St. Tropez Self Tan Express is my go-to and what I recommend to everyone who wants to tan at home. The colour is gorgeous and deep when left for 3 hours but if you leave for 2 you’ll get a medium colour and 1 hour for just a light tan. I love this concept! The fact you can customise the tan you have and it’s still long-lasting is amazing. Generally I do leave it on for 2-3 hours because I’m fairly pale and it gives the skin a really gorgeous, natural olive colour. If you’re a long time reader of MTA you’ll know the mousse version of Bondi Sands was a product I spoke highly off and I still do love it but I do find it will only last 3 days before patching off whereas this one I can get about 5 days out off because it needs removing.

When you’re in a pinch..
If you’re like me and not always very organised when it comes to tanning pre-dinner, events or dates then the Le Tan Wash Off Natural Looking Tan ‘Dark Bronze’ is a fab product to have in your stash. It’s a  really deep colour so it’ll give you a really deep noticeable tan. This is a no wash product so you literally spray, work in with a mitt, wait a minute or two then get dressed and go. It can rub off on white clothing (just on the inside of your clothes) but it washes out easily I promise! A staple product for if you’re in a pinch.

If you’re not a fan of the mousse formulations..
The Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mist ‘Dark’ is one for those who just can’t get past the mousse texture which I know isn’t a winner for alot of people. This one is a spray that you can spray directly onto the skin or onto a mitt then work into the skin. You’re recommended to leave it on the skin for about an hour but I always leave it on for a little extra just to help the colour develop a little darker. As I said earlier I don’t find Bondi Sands the most long-lasting (when you’re lazy with body moisturising like me) but it does give a really fab colour if you want something just for the weekend. It’s also alot cheaper then St.Tropez so you could always purchase this one and keep up with the body moisturising to prolong the life of the tan.

For a natural glow..
Sometimes developing times, applying with a mitt and then maintaining a tan can be a little high maintenance – I completely understand! If you’re after something you can apply like an everyday body moisturiser the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturiser ‘Fair to Medium’ is an awesome option. It doesn’t have any sort of fake tan scent and you’ll get a gorgeous colour out of it when applied 2-3 days in a row. It’s easy just to work into the body and go! You definitely don’t get the same leave as olive glow as the others BUT it’s low maintenance, customisable and won’t break the bank either.

I just bought the Bondi Sands Dark Mousse so I hope I go okay with that! Wish me luck for tonight! I have a hens party to get ready for tomorrow. I never self-tan usually, more a gradual tanner sort of gal.

I am slightly disappointed by the bondi sands mist. I purchased this exact 1 about 2 weeks ago and each time i use it irs misty but also with bigger blobs of tan splurting out. Can you believe a good old LeTan sprayed out of the can better than this. Just my observations.
