8 THINGS TO DO WHEN VISITING OCEAN GROVE

a-guide-to-visiting-ocean-grove

Last month we took a family trip to Ocean Grove for a long weekend and it was alot of fun! We spent the weekend at the beach, exploring surrounding towns and chilling out. Here are some of my top places to visit around the area.

Because we were there on a family trip we didn’t actually have anything to do with booking the accommodation but I really recommend AirBnB for finding a holiday house in the area. There are so many to choose from so just make sure you read reviews and suss out the location as Ocean Grove is a fairly massive place and if you’re wanting to be near the beach expect to pay a little extra.

  1. Visit The Dunes Cafe – awesome service and food
  2. Play beach cricket because even if you hate watching it… It’s fun.
  3. Do the walk/run/bike ride from Ocean Grove to Barwon Heads
  4. Visit Barwon Heads for a coffee and wander around the shops
  5. Take a trip to Queenscliff and climb the lookout
  6. Have Q Fish & Hips because they’re the best I’ve ever had (Queenscliff)
  7. Sunbath and read trashy magazines
  8. RELAX

We spent alot of time down at Barwon Heads and if we went back again we  would probably stay down there. It’s super trendy but more what we like in terms of cafes, shops and just the general vibe we really liked.

Have you visited Ocean Grove? What were your fave things to do in the area?

I think I might’ve visited Ocean Grove when I was younger but I don’t really remember it. Growing up I had a lot of friends holiday there, so I’d love to head there myself one day to explore. Maybe that should be the next place I venture off to on a little holiday! :)

I don’t really recall ever going to ocean grove. But I’ve been fishing in barwon heads a few times and I visited queenscliff for school when I was young. I’ve probably been there and I just don’t remember it! I really want to start making the effort to go to places in Australia more often. Particularly places so close that we could just go for the weekend. I’ve probably visited more places over seas than I have in my own country & I’d really like to change that.
