Doesn’t this feel old school? Way back when I first started blogging this was one of the more popular posts people would do… Now I feel like it’s not very often we see a skincare routine post. As we’re less than 6 months away from the wedding I’ve stopped testing new things and opted to keep things very consisted. For most of this year I’ve had a routine that hasn’t changed very much at all so I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been using.

In the morning I don’t stress about doing the full cleanse step with water and all that jazz instead I opt for a micellar solution. My pick is the Avene Micellar Lotion because it is so gentle and doesn’t strip the skin OR leave a residue making it really fab for before make up. This has to be my 6th bottle of the stuff! A great formulation and really refreshes the skin in the morning.

This is a step I tend to skip a fair bit mainly because I’m usually rushing but when I do stop to do my full morning routine I use the Skinstitut Multi-Active Mist. It’s really refreshing and perks up the skin adding the extra boost of moisture but I wouldn’t say it’s a key product that I see amazing results with. During the warmer months I tend to make more of an effort with these sprays because my skin drinks them up when I’m hot and flushed.

On my vanity I keep the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly and the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ switching between the two depending on my skins needs. Honestly if I feel my skin is going along alright I’ll go straight to moisturiser but probably 3-4 times a week I’ll use a treatment in the morning. I opt for the Effaclar Duo+ when I’m spotty to act as a helping hand to treat and fade the spots and the Hydraluron when my skin is feeling tight and dry. Both of these products have been staples for years so I do really recommend checking them out.

In the morning I don’t like anything that is too heavy or takes a long time to sink in. Generally I use Benefit Puff Off! because it’s brightening, absorbs fast and doesn’t interrupt the wear of my make up but it doesn’t hydrate as much as other eye creams. For days where I feel like I need an extra hydrating boost around the eyes I use the Medik8 Hydra8 Night Eye. This product does have vitamin A so it’s important to wear SPF when using but it’s a really rich, luxurious eye treatment that hydrates the eyes without leaving a residue.

I’ve just realised I don’t have an SPF on my vanity sooooo I need to hunt one down – any recommendations? For most of this year, if not longer, I’ve been using the Skinstitut Moisture Defence Normal Skin and it’s hands down the best day moisturiser I’ve ever used! It’s a gel formulation meaning it sinks into the skin really quickly but it also provides a fair whack of hydration. It’s fantastic and I really recommend it!
