MY THOUGHTS ON THE CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICKS

Charlotte Tilbury really shoot the beauty world when her line was released and slowly but surely each seasonal release has bloggers and the media singing her praises. The latest addition to the line up is her Matte Revolution Lipstick range and I’ve been testing out one of the colours.

The line consists of 10 lipsticks for all skin tones that match each of Charlotte’s signature looks. Formulation wise the brand promises a hydration with a soft, buildable cashmere finish. Each lipstick bullet is square and angled mimicking the shape of a lip brush making it super easy to apply. Whilst I’m giving you the low down I also wanted to mention the amazing job the Charlotte Tilbury team have done with the website. Each lipstick has a photo of it on a RANGE of skin tones from really pale to super dark skinned gals which is incredible!

The shade I was gifted is ‘The Queen’ and you guessed right it is inspired by Elizabeth II. Boasting a rich, rosy pink hue it is quite a statement on my pale skin but I do really enjoy the pop the of colour. The finish of the lipstick isn’t a flat matte so I can understand why they’ve described is as ‘cashmere matte’. It’s not shiny/glossy but it does have a slight sheen too it that the light catches. The wear of the lipstick is great however I do find it feathered around the edge of my lips (I have a super uneven lip line though) after 5-6 hours wear so a lip liner would be great to team with it if you’re going to be out all day.

Overall I really enjoy the colour, wear and comfort of this line and will definitely be looking into more colours in the future.

I have the shade glastonberry and agree, it can feather. I have to wear a lip liner with it, and it’s not the most opaque shade, but the formula is so rich and creamy I think it has to sit on top of a lip liner (hence why it’s probably called a cashmere matte which I never knew!) xx
