WHY A BLAZER NO LONGER SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME

Rewind to about a year ago and I was deathly afraid of blazers. I have a fairly chilled vibe to my style so the likes of Balmain and super crazy, structured ones freaked me out.

I love the Balmain one – god I even like the affordable version from Camilla & Marc – I drool  over them both! But my vibe just isn’t that – when I get dressed up of course I appear formal but the structure to me seems a little too heavy. For now anyway. It wasn’t until I spotted one of my favourite Youtuber’s ‘The Perisan Babe’ supporting a really longline black number I started to feel a little more excited about the idea of incorporating a blazer into my everyday wardrobe.

When browsing the Sass Clothing website I spotted the Jackson Blazer and it was what I had been looking for. It’s long line so it covers your bum, has these gorgeous lapels that give a formal-isn vibe but the scrunched sleeves make it casual. I love it!

I’ve dressed it up a little smarted with the wide leg jeans and boots but it also looks amazing over a graphic tee and denim cut-offs. I’m really glad I finally took the plunge and tried a blazer! Like with everything I think it’s about testing out different styles until you find one that works for you and really fits your personal style.

  • I like blazers, but I haven’t worn one on the regular in ages. I’m too dedicated to my leather & denim jackets right now. I last wore one to my cousin’s wedding last year & I now call it “the wedding blazer” as it’s the only occasion where I wear it. I like the one you’re wearing & how you’ve styled it – so chic & cool!

Ah! I am terrified by blazers haha! I have one for job interviews and once I landed my job, it hadn’t left the closet since. But like you said, maybe I should experiment and morph it into my everyday style! It looks cool on you! Thanks for the inspiration!
