LETS CHAT ABOUT THE GINGHAM TREND

Gingham. It’s the trend I’ve been eyeing up for months but never really found the items for me. I didn’t want something really girly or anything frilly so it’s been a bit of a hunt.

If you follow along on Instagram and watch my stories you may have spotted this shirt dress I purchased and wasn’t sure on the length. I ended up keeping it and to my surprise loving the way it layers with any pieces. It also is incredible for teaming with other prints. Cue this cute Debby Skort and a voucher I won I just couldn’t get off the gingham train long enough to resist (since they’ve realised this dress but I’ve drawn the line, boooo because I REALLY want it).

What I love about this particular piece is the fact it appears to be a skirt but really it’s shorts. It’s the novelty of wearing that makes me so freaking ridiculously happy. I especially love the way it teams with other more grungy pieces but that small ruffle cut adds a huge punch of girl-y-ness to contrast. Pretty much I’m obsessed.

If you haven’t tried the gingham trend it really is an easy one and I’ve found it slots into my basic wardrobe seamlessly. The chain stores all have affordable options as well so it’s an easy trend to dip your toes in without shelling out a tonne of money. It teams with other prints beautifully – something I’m super surprised at so if you’re looking for a middle man – not a bright crazy print but not a basic colour – this is for you!

What I’m wearing: IDS Holly BlouseDebby Skort (both size 8, skirt does run a tad short so size up for length) | Yeezus T-shirt | Mollini Boots (not current but they’ve done similar ones this season) | H&M Bag (not current) |  Elroy Eyewear Harper Sunglasses (not current but available in black

Have you tried the gingham trend?

First off, gotta mention that your legs look absolutely killer!

I’m so torn on the gingham trend at the moment, I saw a gingham asos coat that I loved but I’m so iffy about investing in pieces I’m not sure I’ll like in 6 months time! I’m such a grandma haha
