People shop in different ways. My best friend always buys a few things here and there but never alot all at once while I’m the opposite.

I tend to have about a month in both autumn and spring where I buy the things that I need to fill the gaps in my existing wardrobe. I don’t have a capsule wardrobe but I am working on building a wardrobe of pieces that will be around for a long time so I always do a clear out, replace items that need replacing and list the items that I’d like to add into the mix. Here are some of my current pieces I’m obsessed with and are still available – just so you know what we’re working with (but if you’re ever wondering about a particular item I regularly update the SHOP tab now with the pieces I’m wearing tonnes).

This season I’m really lacking in tops – the type of tops that you can layer but wear alone also – not knits. If you read this post you totally will know the struggle I’m having. I own a couple I crack out if I need to dress a little more formally but day to day my life doesn’t demand that. I’ve added some oversized shirts (my obsession), knits and some prints that are the kind I won’t cringe at next year.

I’ve also added a couple of dresses, boots, a leopard coat and some pants that aren’t jeans as they’re also on my hit list right now. Although I’ll forever be a tee and jeans kinda gal I have to say that the culotte thing is where it’s at for comfort and versatility so I’m interesting in playing more with that cut and possibly adding some prints into the mix.

You guys have probably noticed but I am trying to step outside of my comfort zone with my fashion at the moment and have a bit more fun with my outfits. I do love it but I’m always conscious of ‘will I love it next year’ when dropping money on items making sure the price reflects the answer. I find the fashion blogging thing a bit weird because although I am trying trends I also am wary of sticking to my personal style…. More on that in another post I think!

Even though as I said I’m more or less done with shopping for winter however I’m still keeping an eye out for a few things…. Plus lust after a few things that aren’t on my list :P

On my hitlist
– distressed boyfriend jeans in a light wash + straight leg black jeans (both replacing other denim that are worn out)
– a pair of unique printed culottes
– shoes that aren’t trainers but aren’t boots… Something in the middle that are comfy for everyday
– tops that aren’t t-shirts but aren’t heavy knits
– black sunglasses
– a handbag that isn’t black but will still match with my style
– a new blanket scarf

Will you be adding any of these to your wardrobe?

I have one thing on my winter wish list and that is a trench coat & so far this winter I’ve bought everything but that. LOL. I just can’t find one that I love. I think that’s the hardest thing about knowing what you want. It’s just so hard to find that thing you’ve dreamed up in your mind!

I’ve luckily ticked a few things off my winter wishlist but there’s still quite a number of things on there like a winter dress, more ankle boots, a poncho (for some reason I’ve got a hankering to wear ponchos this winter) + a grey coat. It’s hard because I either can’t afford the item, want to see it in person or just can’t find it…why can’t I find a grey coat that has some shape to it?!
