I’m fairly lucky that my work wardrobe can be fairly easily adapted to going out after work. I work in a kids clothing & lifestyle boutique so although I do have to ensure nothing is too short apart from that I can wear what I like.

One of my go-to outfits if I know I’m going out after work is a cute button up and some jeans or short. Why? Sounds boring? Well I love the way you can easily change your bottom half and manipulate a button up shirt to fit as you please. The Buttercup Stripe Shirt has this stunning embroidery on the chest meaning it is that little bit more interesting compared to just a stripe shirt as well. I love that detail! It makes me more comfy wearing it straight out after work too.

Shirts are one of those things lots of people are scared of but really they are the most handy item to have in your wardrobe! You can tuck them, unbutton, tie them up and really play with silhouettes as well.

What I’m wearing:  Buttercup Stripe Shirt (gifted, size 10) | Target Black Skirt (size 10, it’s apart of the Lily Loves collection and only $30!) | Senso Mules | Elroy Sunglasses | Colette Satchel Bag (gifted)

What are your favourite ways to take work wear into after work drinks?

Shirts are a lot more versatile than t-shirts and I definitely have more button up shirts in my wardrobe rather than t-shirts. Mine are usually in a fairly casual print though, like gingham or have some embroidery or something as I never want them to look too business-like as that’s not my style at all, but I really don’t wear that many t-shirts even though in the blogging world they seem to be everywhere instead of button ups.
