For those of you unaware 50+ SPF was non-existant on the Australian market up until a couple of months ago where every brand started releasing the high factor protection. YES! Finally. Here are some great picks for both the body and face.
For the body…
Le Tan’s Coconut Lotion SPF 50+ is a traditional cream formula that you dispense into your hand then apply. This is my personal favourite of the cream formula because it doesn’t have the typical sunscreen scent. This absorbs quickly and the scent lingers which I love!
Banana Boat Sport SPF 50+ is a fantastic option for a quick and easy application. It sprays on clear and doesn’t require rubbing in at all. It doesn’t feel to thick or greasy on the skin which is a characteristic I really love about this product.
I know some people like to ensure they’ve slathered their bodies and can feel the product their so they know their being protected. The Cancer Council Sport Sunscreen SPF 50+ is a great option if you’re one of those people. This is a cream formula with a spray dispenser but the product feels and smells like a traditional sunscreen.
For the face…
If you’re after a bit of coverage La Roche-Posay Uvidea XL has taken the cake for a high SPF BB cream. It’s light, blends well and feels really great on the skin. If I opt for this then I do set with a powder so I don’t lose that coverage throughout the day but it’s fantastic and light.
Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunscreen which has been very hyped in the UK beauty community and for good reason. This is the perfect base for make up as it doesn’t interrupt anything you do application wise afterwards but still provides you with extra protection.
Lastly, if you have sensitive skin Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturiser is extremely gentle on the skin. It’s hypo-allergenic and fragrance free, also a great base to your make up.

This is a fabulous idea for a post! I’ve always just used SPF 30 and found it to be sufficient, but you can never go wrong with SPF 50 in my opinion. I personally don’t like spray sunscreens because I’m not convinced that they are really covering me all over so I like the creams that you rub in. I despise the sunscreen smell and the awful greasy feel but there is no way I’m going to go without it, I take sunburn and skin cancer way to seriously! Haha. Thanks for this post! x
I do too Candice don’t worry!
Thanks for this Sarah, I’ve been struggling to find a facial sunscreen that doesn’t feel greasy and yuck, will have to check out these ones. We’ve tried the Banana Boat spray one, I actually don’t recommend it at all, found it does not give you the cover you need.. and seriously.. who’s too posh to rub sunscreen in these days! Slip SLOP Slap Slide.. not Slip SPRAY Slap Slide lol :)
Oh that’s such a shame that you don’t like it! I love the spray and think it works really well for me :) I know what you mean though my mum doesn’t like the spray especially for my younger sisters who are super pale! x
Wow, I need that BB cream! I never realised that you could get one with such high SPF. Great post, hun :)
Thanks lovely! The BB cream is great :)
I have never heard of any of these brands in the UK :) I really want to use something with higher SPF however as my skin is very pale and more prone to burning so this would be perfect but not sure if we get such a high SPF here! :) xx

I think you do! I seen Vivanna Does Make Up speak about the Neutrogena one :) X
Great post Sarah!
Thanks lovely!
Great post. Sarah. I love SPFs too and have finally gotten a lot better at adding them to my everyday routine. I’ve been meaning to do a post like this for ages now, maybe now I actually will! X
Yes! Do it :) love to hear about the ones you love xx
Wonderful post!
I love the LeTan coconut lotion. It does smell nice. I also love Neutrogena sunscreens. They are probably the best out there.
Great post! I’ve been looking for a high SPF sunscreen for my face in preparation for summer so I’ll definitely give some of these a go :)
