This month has been a whirl wind. Can you believe today is the first day of winter?! May had lots of amazing releases hit the shelves from budget and high end brands. Here is a round up of our top picks!
1. Loreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Nudes
Similarly to when L’oreal released their ‘nudes’ collection (full review + swatches here) they’ve now released a collection of reds corresponding to their ambassadors. The formulation is gorgeous, the wear is decent enough for a cream lipstick and the packaging is on point. I’ll leave it there as we have a full swatch review on these coming later this week so stay tuned for that!
2. Jurlique Bloom Rosewater Balancing Mist
Each year Jurlique release a limited edition packaging along with a social media campaign to raise funds for a charity. This year it’s AIME a educational program that supports Indigenous high school students finish school and transition into adult like where it be university or full-time work. I love supporting the cause each year and you can see on our Instagram that we’ve already posted a photo of our Bloom water. For the first 300 posts Jurlique donated $50 to the charity - amazing!
3. Essie Winter Collection 2015
Say hello to the colours that have been gracing my nails for the past month and I’ve been dying to tell you all about. These polishes are just stunning ranging from a metallic silver to a creamy white that is actually amazing quality (finally a good quality white yay!). We posted a full review + swatches earlier in the week so check that out for all the information.
4. EVO ‘Pete’ Brush
This brush is an eco-friendly and really fab quality. I know it’s just a hair brush but it’s been a while since I’ve used a paddle brush and my locks are loving the change. I find it gives a really smoothed finish especially if you use it when you’re blow-drying your hair!
5. Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Range
Ah Laura Mercier never ever ceases to amaze me! This particular lipstick range has a whooping 37 colours to choose from now after 8 new shades being added this month. They’re creamy, light weight but still fairly long-lasting which I love! The packaging is weighted so it feels a little luxe but the price point is reasonable at $35 each. My favourite shade is Praline Cream - perfect for channelling the 90’s lip trend!
6. L’oreal Infallible 24hr Matte Foundation
A new addition to the Infallible 24hr line is the Matte foundation and primer. I’m not a huge fan of the primer, I found it to slippery when applied and felt it made my dry patches look even worse but this foundation is a great one. It’s very light in texture and once blended it melts into the skin but you’re left with such a gorgeous finish. It is matte but it’s not cakey matte and it wears really well throughout the day. The shade range is limited, I need to pick up some lighter colours, but if you can find one that matches it’s worth a purchase.
7. Physicians Formula BB Bronzer Booster
Physicians Formula have a huge month of releases this month with about 20 or so new products hitting the stands so it’s worth dropping by and seeing the new additions. Although I’m trialling so many of their products this particular bronzer has really stood out to me so far. It’s not matte so I only use it for warming up the complexion but it’s really a really great colour and doesn’t look too warm on my pale skin.
8. Arbonne Glossed Over Lip Glosses
Another great addition to Arbonne’s make up line is their ‘Glossed Over’ lip glosses. These give a super glossy finish to the lips without being sticky or tacky at all. The brush applicator I would give or take but it’s still easy to apply evenly on the lips. If you’re after a highly pigmented gloss these are for you!
9. Salvatore Ferragamo ‘Emozione’ Fragrance
I’m pretty awful at describing scents but this one I would call a warm floral. It’s top notes are peach, peony and rose whilst there are traces of must and patchouli at the base. I find it’s the perfect floral for the cooler months because it’s less fresh and more warm.
